Chestnutflame tossed and turned in his sleep. The tom had struggled to sleep ever since CrimsonClan threatened there very being. With a quick jolt his auburn colored eyes opened up. His nest was almost 100% destroyed. With a huge gulp of air he let the fur on the back of his neck lower. With a loud sigh, he stood up, stretched his limbs and padded forward. The bright light was a shock but his vision soon adjusted. The clan was quiet. Why would the clan be loud? After all Crimsonstar wanted them destroyed. or did he?
Walking to the prey pile he grabbed himself a large rabbit. He he knew he was hungry only because of the fact for the past few nights he had not been eating. He looked at the white fur and took a few nibbles before he found out he was full. This wasn't working for him. For some reason he just couldn't bring himself to eat. He closed his eyes and started to breathe slowly. Perhaps it would simply help to get his feelings about the situation out in the open.

Fawnshadow poked her head out of the warriors den. She had been worried about Chestnutflame lately. He seemed a bit...off. She felt him get out of the den and she had been roused. The tabby she-cat padded over to where her friend was. She sat down next to him. Her bright blue eyes large and concerned. "Chestnutflame? Are you okay?" She asked, genuine kindness and slight worry were hinted in the words. "You seem like something is troubling you... what is it?" Fawnshadow hoped he would trust her enough to tell her.

Chestnutflame licked his ruffled fur down. He hadn't even touched his rabbit. For some reason it just didn't interest him. He blinked and looked at the tabby she-cat with a look of sadness in his eyes. Times were getting tough and it almost seemed like they didn't have much to look forward too. The Auburn tom shook his pelt before parting his jaws to speak. Even that was a difficult task these days.
"The forest Fawnshadow. I feel like everyday it grows more quiet. I also feel like ever since Crimsonstar talked to the clan about CrimsonClan you can't trust your own clan mates. I trust you Fawnshadow. Your the only one...I feel like there are dark hearts or spies running around, just waiting to jump you and take you away from the ones you care about most...."

Fawnshadow nodded. His words had slightly pleased her. The words about her being the only one he trusted. But she felt a slight prick on her pelt at the mention of a spy. "How do we know any more, who is friend or foe... it's hard to know who to trust." She excluded Chestnutflame from that list. She was nervous about Crimsonstar's threat too, but apparently better at hiding it. "There's nothing you can do to stop what has happened and what will. Just try to live your life without letting it get in the way too much."

Chestnutflame had always been a worryer. He didn't know why. He always looked at life in a negative way, at least since Crimsonstar was running around. He shook out his fur making it more fluffy before pushing his meal completely away. He was withering, but not to the point of death. He ate here and there but nothing that a warrior should be eating."I know....but part of me just can't focus on the now. Part of me feels like I should be battle training, or training an apprentice to be a warrior so we are prepared. You know?"

"I know." Fawnshadow said. She wished she could do more to help her clan too. There seemed to be a shortage of kits and apprentices at the moment which disappointed the young warrior. Apparently some of the other warriors felt the same. Battle training might be a good idea, but Nightstar didn't seem to be taking any extra precautions. "For now the best you can do is make sure you stay strong. You need to focus on the present, not the future." She stopped and took a deep breath, enjoying this time with her best friend, despite the things they were speaking about. "The clan needs you...and so do I."
