Lilypool stood in the training hollow and waited for Mosspaw. She had told Mosspaw to eat breakfast than meet her in the training hollow. She had three more training sessions before her assessment and than she would become a warrior. She was planning on getting those training sessions done real soon she wanted her apprentice to become a warrior. She deserved it. Mosspaw had been training hard for many moons and soon her hard work would come to an end and she will have achieved what she had worked so hard for.

The older she-cat padded into the training hallow. She had decided to to eat a fish for breakfast since it would give her tons of energy. The brown she-cat licked Lilypool between the ears in greeting. Her green gaze was warm."Thanks for putting up with me for the past 5 moons Lilypool." She mewed as she sat next to the she-cat."My assessment is in a few days, I'm incredibly excited. do you think I will pass Lilypool. I want to be a warrior like you. Your one of the best warriors in the clan, I know it." Mosspaw wasn't sucking up to her mentor at all. She was just nice to everyone. She knew respect went a long way, it was how she was raised."Kestrelstar is a fair leader so....I think I'll pass..."

Lilypool purred and licked Mosspaw's ear. "Good morning Mosspaw I hope you slept well. We have a busy day ahead of us. I want to make sure you have everything covered before your assessment. I'm sure you will pass don't worry." She flicked her apprentices ear with her tail gently. "Ok first where going to start with battle training. I want you to show me what you have learned in the past five moons ok. Now come at me how ever you want. Remember claws sheathed where training." Lilypool doubted she had to remind her apprentice about keeping her paws sheathed but better safe than sorry. They would spend the morning hunting and the afternoon hunting. Turning she padded a few tail lengths away than turned back. Mosspaw was a real sweet cat and she was proud to have been her mentor. "Kestralstar is an excellent leader. Now put all your thoughts on how to take me down. If you have to pretend I'm a badger in the camp trying to get to the kits." Lilypool puffed up her fur making her look bigger than she really was.

Mosspaw just let out a purr and cuffed her mentor in a playful matter."You don't have to remind me to fight with my claws sheathed. Why would I want to hurt my own clan mate? That's just foolish.'" She padded in the opposite direction listening just in case her mentor surprised her with an attack. She turned around and saw she was still standing in the same place. Mosspaw lowered herself to the ground whipping her tail back and forth and letting out a playful growl. A badger attacking kits? Mosspaw knew that badgers were clumsy and rather large. However, their balance wasn't good so the best part to start with was the badgers balance....she needed to knock it down. The apprentice watched and with a swift movement dove at an angle knowing that the badger would try and move away. She rolled into her attack swiping at the she-cats paws as she did so. She hoped the powerful shoulder blow and trying to trip her mentor to knock her down would work. Or at least stun her. She knew once a badger had fallen or was stunned she would easily be able to attack with claws.

Lilypool was watching as her apprentice thought though her attack. "Got to be quicker than that remember badgers and other enemy's won't sit still for you to attack like me." Which she would learn soon. As she ran at her she brought a paw up and sliced at her just missing as she dove under her. She lost her balance a little as she attacked and had to take a couple steps to the side to regain it. Turning she launched an attack of her own at her apprentice. She reared up on her back legs like a badger would and swiped at her with both front paws. What would her apprentice do now? The best bet would be to go for the back legs. But would she remember that?

When Lilypool reared up that's what she was waiting for. She didn't want that badger to crash down on her. Mosspaw wasn't the strongest cat. Everyone knew that, she was always sick. However, she was one of the swiftest cats in the clan and incredibly intelligent. Quick as lightning the she-cat dove for Lilypools hind legs. She tucked and rolled after her attack hitting her under belly as well as she "Hopefully a warrior wouldn't be so dumb as to rear up like a badger..... she panted as she eyed her mentor. Her tail lashed back and forth and her fur began to raise. However....something caught her nose. She stopped fighting and knew Lilypool would be angry with her."FOX!!!!"

Lilypool felt the hit and tumbled. "Your right but I said i was pretending to be a badger so I had to act like one." When her mentor froze she sighed and was about to ask what was wrong. Until Mosspaw said Fox. Her heart picked up and she let the air roll over her scent glands and she too smelled it. "Not good a fox has never come this close to camp before. We have to chase it away. We should be able to do that with just the two of us. Your almost a warrior." Though she said that she hoped they would run into a patrol. She headed towards the scent leading the way.

Mosspaw sprinted head knowing she was quick. She could at least distract the ginger and white ball of fur. Lilypool was right, they never got this close to camp. Inkheart? She had recently had kits perhaps their scent attracted it. It wasn't long before she was face to face with a large male fox. Her eyes wided, she had never seen one this big before."Fight like a warrior Mosspaw....you will have your ceremony.....you will live through this fight..." Mosspaw fluffed up her brown fur an let out a growl. Bunching up her hind legs she leaped landing on the foes back. She dug her claws and fangs into the foxes back. It let out a yelp before thrashing violently. The fox rolled onto it's back sending mosspaw flying. There was a loud screech and thump as the she-cat hit a large rock. A small pool of blood formed around her....
Tigershadow was walking around with Willowfeather. He had just finished STonepaws training session and decided to go on a patrol to control his thoughts. His apprentice was wise and he knew that he was ready to be a warrior. His ears flicked when he heard a screech."What in the name of StarClan...." He parted his jaws to scent the air. FOX!"Willowfeather let's go!" The large orange and black tom flicked his tail and darted forward. HIs eyes layed on Mosspaw who was on the ground and the Fox who had large claw marks on it's back and bite marks on his neck. Clearly Mosspaw was trying to distract it by herself."Mosspaw!!!" the large orange and black tom let out a growl unsheathing his claws he let out a battle cry. Lilypool was in the area and would certainly be here any moment. Tigershadow being the foolish cat he was leaped forward claws unsheathed ready to destroty the animal.

Willowfeather had to get out of camp and Tigershadow had asked her. Perfect timing. She thought. They were walking and then she herd something, it wasn't nomal. When she smelt the stench she froze and then darted forward with Tigershadow. Oh no Mosspaw! Starclan help us! she cried. She looked at Tigershadow. Are you that... She said and then stopped. She didn't know what to say, she just went blank and just stood there watching her mate. |

Lilypool wished Mosspaw hadn't gone on ahead. When she finally caught up she saw her apprentice on the ground in a pool of blood. She was relieved to see Tigershadow and Willowfeather. But Willowfeather seamed to be frozen in panic. She had no time to worry about Willowfeather she had to protect her mentor from any more harm. She let out a yowl that echoed around them than lept at the fox. She raked her claws at it's muzzle than sank her fangs into it's legs and bit as hard as possible. The fox yowled in pain and grabbed Lilypool by the back of her neck and shook her off of him. She felt the bite and whimpered softly.

Tigershadow slid underneath the fox clawing at it's underbelly. He felt red liquid glaze over his claws. The Fox lumbered forward knocking him away before grabbing Lilypool by the neck."You stupid piece of...": he hissed. He jumped forward sinking his claws into his muzzle and near his eye. The fox dropped Lilypool and reared up stomping on the ground. Tigershadow lashed his tail standing in front of Mosspaw protectively. She had to get up she just had too!!

Willowfeather looked at mosspaw and went over to her. She put her ear to her mouth, good she is still breathing She thought. She quickly ran and got some cobwebs that were nearby and then put it on her wound. Those were the only two things she had learned from the medicine cat. Willowfeather looked at mosspaw. Please open your eyes she cried. She kept the cobweb on mosspaw until it was soaked, Then she turned to see that the fox wasn't backing down. |

Lilypool was dropped by the Fox and shook herself which made her flinch. Blood was running down her neck and it hurt but she wasn't going to stop. She lept back into battle. Standing on her back legs she raked it's muzzle of the fox over and over. Go away you stinking peace of rat bait." She yowled angrily. Slowly the fox began to back down. but she continued to claw at the fox. It swung it's claw raking her muzzle and knocking her away than turned and fled. Lilypool was knocked down her muzzle stinging. But she got up. "Tigershadow we have to chase it and make sure it leaves the territory. Willowfeather stay with Mosspaw we'll be right back." Muzzle and back of her neck stung like hell but she was going to make sure it left their territory. She took off running after it.

Tigershadow nodded and sprinted after it yowling and spitting. When it cross into WindClans territory he nodded. They couldn't cross the boarder. Moments later he returned and looked at Mosspaw."She's losing a lot of blood,....." he murmured. He watched her flank rise and fall."Lilypool your apprentice was very brave.....she fought like a warrior today.....I will certainly be telling Kestrelstar this...if...she makes it..." he mewed looking at the brown she-cat.

Willowfeather nodded at what lilypool said. She looked at Tigershadow and lilypool chase it over to Winclan. She sighed, at least it is gone but what if it comes back? What if it had a nest? These questions were scaring willowfeather. She didn't like the idea of a fox of the territory. She looked back at mosspaw and then herd Tigershadow's voice. I don't like that she isn't opening her eyes. Oh tigershadow is she going to go to starclan? She asked, |
