Never before had Lynxpaw truly entertained the idea of sneaking out. It was in his nature to listen to the grown cats, to obey and follow their rules and directions. However, a reckless streak had taken route inside of him, perhaps born of this conversation. He talked with the other apprentices, but there had always been some reserved feeling, not that he was going to spill all of his secrets to Mosspaw. However Lynxpaw was thrilled with the idea of befriending the she-cat and perhaps finding a true friend in her in return. He had taken a risk in suggesting sneaking out, and had waited with slight anxiety for her reply. Would she immediately turn down the comment without a second thought? His anxiety was unnecessary, however, for a moment later she responded by agreeing with him. A grin broke out over his features and he flicked his tail, excited at the thrill of doing something illicit. "That's great!" He meowed eagerly. "When do you want to do it? Tonight or tomorrow night?" In his eagerness, he had assumed that they would travel under the shield of darkness.
A soft purr escaping Mosspaw caught Lynxpaw's attention and reined his thoughts in from their adventures of sneaking out. The she-cat's gaze lingered on the playing kits, and Lynxpaw found himself wondering the question she voiced as he watched them. "I would like to think not," He mused lightly, tail flicking, "However, I think my parents would say otherwise. They're cute, aren't they? I can't believe that we were ever that small. I take it that you like kits?"
Lynxpaw glanced at Mosspaw as she spoke again, his blue eyes leaving the squealing kits and ears flicking. He bit his lip and glanced down at his paws when she murmmured about him training; the apprentice had forgotten that tiny part, and even if he had not, he probably would not have mentioned it out of consideration for her. "Yeah, right..." He muttered awkwardly to his paws. "I get back slightly later than sunhigh, correct. You said that they would let you out tomorrow anyway? Maybe we could patrol together in the afternoon -- usually my mentor likes getting a patrol in -- and then sneak out---" He interrupted himself, only just comprehending the last part of her words. "Scratch the patrol part; a herb lesson would be great! Especially since after..." His voice trailed off and he gave her an eager grin; Lynxpaw could not wait until tomorrow.

Mosspaw's whiskers twitched in amusement. She really liked this apprentice. She wrapped her brown tail around her paws and just nodded. She loved kits."I see them every day and play with them occasionally, they have wild imaginations, they keep my busy I love them a lot, I can't believe we were that small one day either. I was kind of hoping we didn't get into as much trouble as these guys did but sadly I don't think that's true."
Mosspaw thought about sneaking out tonight but shook her head at the idea. "Tomorrow night, Graystar is letting me train tomorrow and i'm honestly excited. However the day after Ill be stuck in camp to rest up. So tomorrow night is perfect." she couldn't help but let out a soft giggle as his voice trailed off."just remember I could teach you everything I know in a couple of days! everyone else it would take mooons to learn. I keep watching Howlingwind though, I want to learn more."
She mewed. She found herself swiping her tongue around her muzzle and looking around camp. It was so quiet today and she kind of liked it. Her tail tip flicked back and forth and then her green eyes fell back on Lynxpaw."I want to learn more but mind you I want to be a warrior more than a medicine cat."her mossy green eyes eyed the now empty honey comb and she purred."Now we must wait until new leaf, no worries though!I will certainly share with you again." she purred.

Lynxpaw had thought that the she-cat liked kits, and her nod confirmed it. He could sense Mosspaw's fondness of them through her tone more than her words, and a small smile crept up to his face. She really loved them, and even though they were new friends, Lynxpaw was glad that there was something she loved apart from honeycomb. He had his love of learning, which was fed by his training, and she had her love of kits, which she could enjoy even inside camp. Now that he thought about it, Lynxpaw liked kits as well, though with his desire for knowledge, he rarely ever looked back and reminisced. He always moved forward, wanting to know more.
"Tomorrow night it is," Lynxpaw grinned enthusiastically. "When should we meet to sneak out? You can escape from Howlingwind's den, I assume? Leaving the apprentice's one is no problem, as long as you don't step on anyone's tail." The tom drew himself up and thrust his chest out, looking all self-important. He made his voice deeper and continued playfully, "But I am a master in the area of avoiding tails, so never you worry." Almost the instant after he finished his bragging, Lynxpaw relaxed and brough his tone to its normal range, "When should we sneak out too? I think we should wait a little while until all the warriors have settled and then meet somewhere in camp."
The tom flicked his tail lightly and sat down again, having risen to his paws to brag about his prowess. "I think it's really neat that you get to learn both," Lynxpaw offered a reply, but found himself agreeing with her. "But I would want to be a warrior more than a medicine cat..." His voice trailed off and he followed her green gaze to the honey comb, now empty of the sweet honey. A purr escaped him of its own accord at the memory of the sweet treat and he nodded at her words, "And I will share with you as well."

Mosspaw couldn't help but let out a MROWWW of laughter when the tom said he was the master of avoiding tails. That must have taken a special talent to avoid tails. Mosspaw rolled her eyes. "It must be so difficult to avoid tails...but since you are the master of it the clan must respect that in an apprentice does your mentor teach you that or is that something you learned on your own?" Mosspaw mewed. The brown she-cat found her green eyes bouncing with amusement.
Mosspaw stood up flailing her tail playfully when she looked over at her clan mates. She realized that she was so sickly and she was grateful for Lynxpaw's company."Thank you for being my friend Lynxpaw, It's nice to have someone else to talk to besides Lightpaw and howlingwind...."

Lynxpaw let out a huff and replied, pretending to be annoyed, "I am a master, yes; however, RiverClan does not seem to realize this. Everyone else obviously does not appreciate the tremendous amount of skill and talent it takes to avoid stepping on other cats' tails in dens. I am so underappreciated..." His tone morphed into that resembling dejected whine and blue eyes moved from his friend to his paws. Not a moment later, the tom looked back up, continuing in a self-important tone, "Of course this skill is something I have developed and nurtured on my own. However, do not worry, for I believe that it can be learned. I think that you have the skills that are necessary." He cast a judgemental eye over her for a moment before losing the ability to keep a straight face and dropping the act with a snort.
Lynxpaw's grin broadened at her words and he ducked his head, slightly embarassed. "It's nothing, really," He replied modestly. "Thank you for being my friend as well. It's a shame that no one else realizes how funny and nice you are; but I guess they don't know what they're missing."
OOC: sorry for the late reply. my muse has been dead.

Mosspaw couldn't help but let out a warm purr. She also noticed that her cheeks were turniing warm. She had just met this tom today and yet it seemed like they had known each other since the nursery. It also seemed like they were already best friends. Mosspaw couldn't help but think about how she would be sneaking around without any one knowing, she would also be sneaking around with this Tom as well. Lynxpaw, he was kind, handsome, and would make a good warrior. Who wouldn't want this tom as a friend?"Your welcome Lynxpaw! your like my other half or so it seems. I have someone else to annoy or doesn't mind my company!" The she-cat thought about the other apprentices "Lightpaw doesn't mind me too much but we aren't friends. I wish other apprentices would talk to me, but I'm weird because I don't train as often.," the happy-go-lucky she-cat smiled." I can't wait for our little adventure Lynxpaw!"

Lynxpaw found himself nodding in agreement, tail flicking lightly through the air. Now that he paused to consider it, he and Mosspaw had become friends very quickly, especially to two cats who had not known each other before today. The apprentice felt like he knew her better than he knew most of the other apprentices, the ones with whom he had grown up. Should he find it worrying? He did not think so, and pushed the thought from his mind. There was no reason why he should not have befriended Mosspaw. Both were social outcasts, or at least on the outside, as Lynxpaw had never really been included in the circle of 'popular' apprentices. He had preferred to badger the grown warriors with his questions as a kit rather than play with the other felines his age, and it had cost him. However, Lynxpaw had discovered, slightly surprised, that he did not really mind the cost. Perhaps it was just a case of not really knowing what he had lost; he certainly appreciated Mosspaw's friendship, now that he had it. She had phrased it rather well, he thought. She was his other half as well.
"They just don't understand," Lynxpaw reassured her, grinning, before he addressed the next part of her words. "Neither can I. We're going to be able to do so much! We can race to the border or see who can catch the most fish. It will be so much fun! Mind you, I'm going to win all of the competitions." The apprentice drew himself up to his full height and replaced the eager smile on his face with a haughty expression. "I am the master, after all."

Mosspaw couldn't help but let out a snort and laugh. Master of all? The she-cat raised a brow and reached out with a paw shoving the tom to the ground, Master of all? He wished. Mosspaw listened as he boasted about winning all the competitions. She then remembered how competitive she really was and found herself shifting her weight on her haunches. She would have to win at least on of the competitions. She probably wouldn't win the running one, she wasn't very fast and usually ended up wheezing from her illness before she even reached a good distance. However, she was good at fishing, at least she thought she was. She would probably have a fair chance at that.
"Hahahah you wish Lynxpaw. Don't brag I'm pretty good at fishing, I could train the entire clan to fish i'm that good."she mewed. She lowered herself to the ground playfully again."You will have some serious compeition with me lynxpaw, I hope you are ready for that!" she mewed her eyes bouncing with amusement.
