Vince quietly stalked around the forest trying to find somewhere to stay. It wouldn't be long before it would start raining. The last thing he needed of course was a cold, but not like it would really change the situation that much. He wondered if the humans were looking for him. It didn't seem to liekly that they would let something like himself stalk around. He might be confused for some kind of demonic creature, then again they would be mostly right. He glanced around scouting out his location. He smelled another cat around somewhere. It was faint, but it was a tom. "Another territorial cat who thinks he's all big and bad until he sees a monster. This should be amusing" he spoke grimly. Getting closer to the scent his eyes widened. It was..a kitten. He sped up a bit before laying eyes onto it. He stood there, waiting for it to spot him. Was it alone? Or possibly lost? He knew at the sight of him it would most likely run away. But it would also probably die out here if he didn't do something. "Once again my better judgment makes me do another stupid thing. Here we go..." he said unenthusiastically. He waited there, just wanting to get it over with.

So far, the day had been normal for Mongoose. Patrols had been organized and sent out, the freshkill pile was stocked, and the territory clear of any cats that didn't belong within the borders.
Well, that's the way it had been.
The Virusclan general had gone on his own patrol, in part so he could see for himself that all was secure but mostly because it was a good excuse to get out of the camp and be left alone with his thoughts for a while. He had no reason to believe that there was a problem, but now - as he made his way along the border - he smelled two fresh problems nearby. He tasted the air, identifying the two cats, and made his way toward them, wary for any other scents.
It wasn't long before he could see them - a kit and an adult seemingly alone. The adult would have intimidated a lesser cat, but Mongoose felt he had no reason to fear this trespasser on his own territory. Making no effort to mask his approach, he stepped forward to confront the two.
"You shouldn't be here."

Vince looked over at a new approacher. "And why is that? Its not like you have your name of the ground or on the trees." He glanced back over at the kit. "That one yours it take it." he stood up looking down at the cat "Make no mistake I seek no fight. I'm simply passing through. Or is that off limits?" he could already guess it was. It wouldn't be a surprise. Maybe this was the actual cat he was smelling earlier. "Let me guess. You're a clan kitty. And i'm on this territory that you own because you say you own it." he questioned.

Snakey, who was back in Virusclan for a little while, decided to go on patrol. She liked to patrol the grounds and make sure the grounds were secure to her liking. Something Mongoose was fond of doing as well.
Soon, she of them saw a kit and an adult cat, one who was not part of Virusclan but Mongoose was already there, confronting the trespasser.
"Might as well go and help Mongoose out, I don't want unnecessary bloodshed. I especially don't want to see that kit hurt." she though as she briskly walked over to the 3 cats.
"We are clan cats of some sort but probably not the type you'd expect." she replied calmly, padding her way to Mongoose's side "Mongoose, we may want to let this cat pass peacefully. If my assumptions are correct, he might've been protecting the kit and if foxes were here we'd owe him this kit's life. Remember how I was attacked by foxes just recently here on our territory?"

Vince stared blankly. "Not a clan but a clan at the same time. You've lost me." he replied confused. He wondered if he really did just want to keep walking forever. It didn't seem like the best approach for the rest of his life. "So this, not a clan. Tell me more." he asked, somewhat interested. He glanced at the kit and then back at the she-cat. In the back of his mind he wondered if he could join them. But that was a little random at a moment like this. He'd just listen for now.

Mongoose did not like this stranger's tone, and he was about to snarl out a thread when he heard the pawsteps of one of his clanmates. He fully believed he needed absolutely no help in driving off the intruder, but something made him stay silent and wait as Snakey approached and spoke to him. Perhaps it was that there was a kit involved. Kits were precious, even to someone as strict and battle-hardened as he was.
He listened as Snakey spoke. She brought up a good point that he hadn't considered. The foxes had been driven out of the territory as far as he could tell, but foxes were nothing if not cunning and it wouldn't have surprised him if some of them had found their way back.
He nodded to the she-cat. "Perhaps." He turned back to the stranger, who inquired about the nature of the clan. At that, he let out a short mrow of laughter. "It means we're not weak, simpering kits who can't so much as make dirt without consulting the stars." He knew not all members of his clan agreed with him, but he, for one, thought the concept of the dead living on in the sky was laughable, at best.
