Stonepaw crouched, perfectly still on the bank of the river. A fish slid gracefully against the current. The young apprentice thrusted his claw into the water, throwing him off balance. The gray tom p;unged into the slow moving, freezing cold water. Though green was the color most present in the world at that time, leaf-bare wasn't long ago and it still lingered in a few places. The river was one of the few places the chill still remained. Stonepaw pushed himself up on slightly shaky paws. He stumbled on to the bank and shook out his fur. His eyes flickered around nervously, hoping no one saw. He smoothed down his fur. He was still soaking.

Mosspaw let out a snort as she watched Stonepaw through her warm green eyes. The she-cat blinked as her mottled brown fur stuck up in multiple places. Her fur wasn't groomed well and she had decided swimming the way she was, was just fine for her. With a wild grin she splashed forward sending water of droplets everywhere. She looked at Stonepaw who looked like he had nearly drowned."You look like a cat pushed you in Stonepaw. Mosspaw mewed from the water. The she-cat climbed on the bank and shook the water from her fur. Her brown coat was now spikier than ever and it honestly made the she-cat look goofy.

Shinestream watched, her eyes sparkling with amusement. Then, she saw a patch of moss and patch of lavender near the stream where the two young cats were. She walked over and smiled. It was a very warm new-leaf. "And thank Starclan for that!"the beautiful she-cat though, giving thanks to the good, strong, and brave ancestors, that she had seen many times. "Hello, Stonepaw, Mosspaw."she said, her bright blue eyes were shining with a mischievous spark. "Do you need a herb for over spiked pelts?"she smiled playfully. Shinestream was one of the most kind in the clan, yet the most amusing.

Stonepaw's eyes fell to his paws in sheepish embarrassment. "No, not quite. I fell in. Promise you won't tell anyone?" He replied to a spiky looking Mosspaw. Stonepaw looked up at Shinestream in slight confusion. He didn't think there was a herb for spiked pelts. Stonepaw shivered a little, the water had been very cold. The silver tom licked some of the water off of his chest.

Mosspaw formed a sheepish grin and just rolled her eyes."I won't tell Stonepaw I promise I'm not that mean..." the friendly brown she-cat gave the tom a swift lick between the ears. Her fur was still poking out everywhere. She heard the soft pawsteps of shinestream. She shot the medicine cat a rather large grin."If you have an herb for that Shinestream, I could use a lot of it. I love to swim when it gets warm enough! Like today, today's a good example." She shook the rest of the water from her fur and wrapped her brown tail around her paws. She looked at both of them back and forth with her green eyes and simply let out a warm purr."Do you have a Thorn in your paw? Why can't we be more happy for warm weather?"

"Well I did just take an unwanted swim." Stonepaw said,but smiled anyway. He could hardly take Mosspaw seriously with her spiky fur. He suddenly got a mischievous look in his eyes. The gray tom used his claws and pulled himself up into a blooming dogwood tree. He shook the branch and purple blossom started to fall near the two she-cats and into the river. He could she the silver fish swimming through the stream slightly panick at the sight of the flowers. "It's so pretty up here! Come see!" He called down to Mosspaw.

The spiky furred she-cat snorted as a flower landed on her head. She watched Stonepaw with a mischevious grin. Just because she was 14 moons old didn't mean she didn't want to play from time to time. In fact she enjoyed goofing off. Mosspaw was always in and out of Shinestreams den due to her odd illness that no cat seemed to know. There were days were her fur would shed like crazy, and other days where she was so sick the warriors thought she was on her way to StarClan. However, not today. She was full of energy and ready to go.
Mosspaw, with a mighty leap, dug her claws into the bark and scaled up to the branch where Stonepaw was easily. She liked showing off her skills. That was something that would never get old to her. At least so she thought. She looked to the left, then to the right before walking forward."The branch is directly over the water at the end... WE SHOULD JUMP FROM IT! OH IT WILL BE SO MUCH FUN!" Mosspaw squealed.

He was surprised at how fast she got up to the branch. Stonepaw's eyes went wide when she mentioned jumping. He couldn't tell if she was joking or not. He looked down at the shallow water below and blinked. It wasn't that far down, but it you fell, you could get hurt. Very hurt. "Mosspaw, are you sure it would be 'fun'? Don't you mean painful?" He teased lightly. If she really did jump, it would be his fault, or at least he would feel guilty about it. Stonepaw was also surprised at the way she was behaving. He hadn't spent very much time with her, but he didn't think this was how a cat who spent most of her time in the Medicine Cat den would behave. But what did he know?
