Cat's Appearance Birchpaw is small with a medium build. His pelt is medium-length and mostly silver, though his paws are black. His eyes are a vivid blue and always seem to be wide open unless he's sleeping. His left ear is torn from a training accident and his right flank has a row of cat scratch scars running across it.
Cat's personality Birchpaw is brave when it comes to hunting and fighting for his clan, but he's shy when it comes to interacting with other cats. He never knows the right thing to say, especially when receiving a compliment or being scolded, because "thank you" and "sorry" just don't seem to cut it for him. He's very awkward around she-cats in particular and usually attempts to avoid those he's not directly related to. It's not that he doesn't like them - quite the opposite - but they make him nervous. He wants to be a credit to his clan and is always looking for a way to make himself useful.
Cat's History Birchpaw was born to Brightcloud and Skybreeze, at some point after Minnowpool's birth. He was a fairly quiet kit and tended to stick close to his mother and siblings, even while they encouraged him to socialize. When he became an apprentice, this changed only slightly and only because the situation demanded it.
Growing up, he'd always assumed his whole family would be there to see him become a warrior. That future was shattered with the death of his parents, and he became even more withdrawn with their deaths. He still mourns them, but he knows his clan is depending on him and so he does his best to deal, hoping that someday the pain will be easier to bear.
