The orange and black tom padded into the apprentices den. He poked his nose in and rolled his eyes at the sight of what he saw."Stonepaw, wake up. We are doing your final training for battles today. Tomorrow will be your final training for Hunting and then you can have your warrior assessment. You and Mosspaw will be having your assessment TOGETHER. You will be tested as to how well you can work together, how well you battle, and how well you hunt. You may also be asked to lead a patrol with other warriors, you need to know how to lead and I will be teaching you all of that. Meet me in the training hallow." The tom snorted before padding away. Stonepaw was a handful but he would make a great warrior. He saw the way Stonepaw and Mosspaw interacted. Perhaps kits were in RiverClans future....

Stonepaw's ears twitched at Tigershadow's words. His eyes opened at the words 'warrior assessment' and 'Mosspaw'. It took him a few minutes but he was awake enough to follow his mentor to the training hollow. He lagged behind some, his body still half asleep. His mind though, was wide awake, running at a million miles an hour. This was going to be so exciting! He would be a warrior in no time. And he would be having assessment with Mosspaw! The apprentice was extremely excited.

Tigershadow nodded as the tom came out. "I have to each you how to be a leader. That being said you are going to be the mentor and I the apprentice. We are on a patrol today Stonepaw you take charge, you determine which way is best and why, we must work as a team. Teamwork is a very important part of being a warrior. One day you will need to lead a hunting patrol and you will have to determine which way is best. We will start with that. It will give you a chance to get your hunting skills up to par. Then we will simply end with battling. " The tom mewed. His deep amber eyes were glowing with pride as he waited for Stonepaw to take charge.

Stonepaw nodded at his mentor and frowned slightly. Him, lead? He would do it, one way or the other. Stonepaw was nervous about messing up but pushed his feelings aside. The river, he decided, was a good place to go hunting. There would be plenty of fish and maybe some water voles and other small mammals. The silver tom hoped he was making the right choice and led his mentor down to the river. He nearly asked if he made an okay choice but decided that it wasn't the objective to know his mentor's opinion. He was supposed to follow his own. "Um...I guess we hunt now?" He halfway asked, his voice a little nervous.

Tigershadow folloewd his apprentice pleased with his choice however, he wasn't supposed to show it. He just nodded and padded up to the River."Yes I suppose we do, We could catch more prey if we had a team system going on. Fish will help build up the immune systems of queens and young cats. Perhaps we should try and catch a lot. However getting them over here would take a lot of work by yourself....how do you suppose you and I can work together to catch them? Just remember I won't be giving you hints during your assessment. I'll just be watching."

Stonepaw nodded at his words. He contemplated a minute. "Well, stealth, quickness and quietness is important when hunting fish." He said to himself, getting closer to the river. Hunting scenarios spun through his mind. The best way to fish, he thought, was to do it one by one. But that would take a long time. He didn't think there was another way too fish. "If we spread out enough, one of us could catch a fish then scare the other fish and they would swim down to the other cat. And keep going until we have enough fish?" He suggested, looking at him for reassurance. He realized he would get none. "I think it would work." He continued, rambling slightly. Stonepaw was very nervous about his fastly approaching warrior assessment.

Tigerflight had to give credit for his apprentices creativity. The plan should work but he didn't want to hint at anything. He raised a brow and looked at the silver darting fish."There's no harm in trying Stonepaw, where would you like me to go?" Tigerflight mewed. He would need to know every detail of the plan for it to work of course. He looked at the rocks and knew they were tightly packed and the fish wouldn't be able to hide in them. If someone stood there and the other stood on the other side they should be able to chase the fish back and forth and catch a decent amount.

"I'll try and catch a fish first and scare them and send them down to you, then you catch some and send back to me." Stonepaw directed him about two foxlengths away from where Stonepaw was standing. It would give them plenty of space to send the fish and prepare the other cat to catch them . Stonepaw prepared to catch a fish. He slowed his heart and when a fish was within catching range, his claw shot through the water and he caught a fish. Like he had hoped, the fish started swimming, unknowingly, toward his mentor. He nodded at his mentor to tell him that the fish were heading toward him.
