Shimmerpaw looked to the sky. Her silver flecks that scattered across her black pelt rippled as she sat down and wrapped her tail around her paws. She had heard stories of the clans and it was intriguing. She licked her chest and noticed how she was losing weight,. Prey was scarce. It was a fact. There was nothing either of them could do about it. She spotted Pinestar going about her buiseness with another cat. The she-cat tilted her head to the side and wondered when her time would come to be of importance enough to eat with her. Her eyes then trailed over to Comettail who was eating a vole with Gracewing. She furrowed her brows. Everyone had friends, she had herself. Shimmerpaw blinked once before turning to the sky again. She remembered the stories of the four main clans. Were they real?

With a yawn, he emerged from where he slept most peacefully during the days he wasn't busy. As his eyes, still that same old sky-blue color, adjusted to the light outside, he noted the pairs of cats throughout the camp as he made his way to join the others. One apprentice alone caught his eye, for she sat alone. He had days where that happened to him, sure enough.
Bravepaw made his way toward her, his long, gray tabby tail high in interest. As he grew closer, he remembered who it was now. Shimmerpaw. He admired her, and thought her as one of the cutest she-cats he'd seen in this clan yet. "Hey, Shimmerpaw." The young tom meowed, voice soft. He smiled, his lean figure coming to a stop a couple of tail-lengths away before he sat down. Bravepaw, himself, looked around the camp, noticing Gracewing and Comettail, Pinestar and another cat, as well as the others going about their business like they did everyday.

She blinked twice before turning herself to look at Bravepaw. Her black pelt bristled as he got close. It wasn't often she interacted with anyone aside from her mentor. Her tail tip twitched nervously. Her blue eyes glazed over and she moved over slightly to make room for the new commer. As she did a pile of dust exploded from the ground. Everything was so....so dry.
"Hi Bravepaw..." Shimmerpaw mewed. Her voice was rather high pitched and it would remind you of a kit. Her voice had always been higher than normal for some reason. She didn't mind it too much, it only bothered her when Cometstrike or the rogue golden asked her about it. She shifted on her paws nervoulsy unsure of how to strike a conversation."How are you doing this morning.....good I hope?" the she-cat asked. That was a good way to start a conversation wasn't it?

He looked down, closing his eyes as the dust hurdled itself into the air. He coughed, shaking his head for a second. His tail instinctively wrapped itself over his paws, a sign of encasement of himself. He wasn't the type to usually speak with others he didn't really know, but he was a shy tom, often enough, and figured that wouldn't help him much in the future. He flicked his ears, refusing the urge to pin them against his skull and slip right back to his nest. He kept his gaze anywhere but on the she-cat he'd neared.
"Yes, good... yourself?" He meowed, daring to sneak a glance in her direction, but quickly looked away. He could feel the sun beating down on him, warming his tabby and white pelt in such a way that it would have been uncomfortable for someone who had never lived in such a place before. For some reason, he was nervous about talking with others. He felt out of his comfort zone for the day, and wasn't all that sure why.

Shimmerpaw could tell he wasn't looking at her directly. She looked at her pelt and then at her paws. Was something wrong with her? Did she have fur sticking up in odd places. She licked her paw and swiped it over her ears just in case. She looked at him and caught his gaze but he quickly looked away. The she-cat pulled her ears back. This was embaressing what was wrong with her. The sun was beating on her dark pelt which was slightly uncomfortable but she had gotten use to it over the past moon or two.
"That's good to hear. Some cats have been getting sick due to the lack of prey. I'm decent, training is rough, I caught a mouse, it was a lucky catch. I gave it to a queen who was nursing. They derserve to eat more than I do some days. It's hard...with all the loners runing around...competeing and what not..." The she-cat mewed trying to put her thoughts together. IT was a difficult task.

Bravepaw shuffled his paws, straightening himself to his full height when sitting. He listened, nodding his head every now and then to show that he was listening through her entire process. The thought of so little prey made his heart sink to his stomach, and he sighed softly. He despised the times like this, when things were so dry and so brittle because of lack of rain, and when prey was scarce because food for them was disappearing. It was then that he realized that carnivorous predators such as themselves may come across many more problems than just lack of food.
"That's good. The Queens and Elders do deserve to eat before the rest of the clan. They're the ones that keep our history and our future intact." He meowed, glancing to her with a smile. He liked listening to others talk, or ramble if they needed to, and found it quite comforting compared to absolute silence. "It is a shame that prey is scarce. I hope it rains soon... things are just far too dry." He added, flicking his ears again.

Shimmerpaw frowned at the dust. She knew all to well that the area was dry. That means fires could happen, prey could die. Skyclan appeared to be doomed. She looked up to the sky and saw that it was a clear blue. She looked towards the mountains that towered all over and didn't even see dark clouds forming in the distance. When was the last time it had rained? When ever it was it was forever ago, She recalled traveling a fair distance to soak a moss ball for the queens to drink from. Even then she had soaked it in a puddle and not in a large water body. Shimmerpaw let her shoulders relax and listened to him speak, she flicked her ears on occasion and nodded. She gathered her own thoughts as he spoke as well."I would be devestated if I didn't get to hear how Swallowtail's great grand parents met cats from the four other clans....but...there is no proof they are real...they are just stories...but it would be fascinating to meet them...I don't even know the clan names...and I heard all four were different....I just...It would be neat." She mewed. She caught herself rambling again. It was just something she did.

He listened, much like he did any other time someone was speaking. He nodded his head, smiling gently to himself. He genuinely liked Shimmerpaw. He found her very easy to be around, not like Hawkflight or Gracewing. He found both of them over-the-top sometimes, but not this apprentice. He thought, for a moment, of what it would be like to actually be there when someone needed him, and not that social outcast he'd grown to be so far. The thought, honestly, scared him a little. He was so far from being used to wandering around with other cats, especially she-cats. He felt a little awkward about how he felt for others, though it hadn't been the first time he had a teeny little crush on someone else.
"Yeah.... He meowed, a little absentmindedly.

Shimmerpaw just giggled. Her tail swayed back and forth. For some reason Bravepaw just amused her. She wasn't sure why to be honest. The black she-cat made eye contact with him and got lost in his blue eyes. She found her cheeks growing hot before looking at her paws. She shifted her weight nervously from time to time. Two cats who were very shy interacting with each other was very difficult. One of them would have to come out of that thick shell that they used for protection. Taking in a deep breath Shimmerpaw decided it would more than likely have to be her.
"Bravepaw don't make me do all the talking silly!" She let out a nervous laugh, but she was starting to get comfortable. Her tail brushed his for just a moment before sweeping to the other side of her body."How about a walk? Would you like to go for a walk?"
