Training {Stormpaw}

Rowansky was waiting for Stormpaw. He was unlike the other mentors and would let his apprentice come to him. He woudn't go wake him up, he would see how much his apprentice wanted to be a warrior. Rowansky was a fairly patient cat, but he was eagar to get started. He was nervous, probably more nervous than his apprentice. He had told Stormpaw to meet him before the sun rose above the dens to prove he was ready to learn and Stormpaw was almost out of time.

Stormpaw yowled waking up, he cursed himself for sleeping in. He raced out of the den and out of camp. Running quickly to the training hollow where they where to meet. "I'm here, I'm here, Rowansky, sorry I slept it, I promise it won't happen again." Stormpaw had only just become an apprentice like two nights ago. He wished his mentor would go easier on him. Non of the other mentors where so rough on their apprentices. But he was excited. He was finally about to learn something. Stormpaw looked up his tail waving back and forth excitedly almost like a dog.

"It's no problem." Rowansky said, thinking he may have been a little too harsh. "You should probably eat something before we get started." The tabby tom knew they would be out for a while and he would need his energy. They would be touring the territory first. Then whatever time they had left would be used for hunting. He grabbed Stormpaw a sparrow and set it down in front of him. "Eat up."

Swiftstep nodded he was hungry after all he had gone to the gathering the night before and he was still tired. He quickly ate the sparrow his mentor caught and ate it in three swift bites. He than swiped his tongue over his muzzle. "Ok I'm ready what's first Rowansky?" Licking his paw he swiped it over his ear a few times. He was trying to give his pelt a quick cleaning since he had, had no time when he first woke up. He he had cleaned any grass or moss out of his fur he gave it a shake and stood up.He had cleaned it really fast. It wasn't perfect but he was clean at least.

"We'll be touring the territory first." Rowansky said watching Stormpaw. "Then, with what time we have left, we'll work on hunting." The tabby tom stood up and started to lead his apprentice towards the ThunderClan entrance. "Tomorrow, you'll have the day off." Both toms would need a break after today, they had a lot of territory to cover. His muscles rippled as he walked, proving that all the training they would be doing would give ThunderClan another strong warrior. The way he would train his apprentice was similar to the way he was taught, but not exactly the same.

Stormpaw nodded and eagerly listened to his mentor. "Great I can't wait to get started. Stormpaw dug his claws in excitement. Once Rowansky started walking he walked beside him. But he had so much energy he wanted to run. From time to time he would run several tail lengths ahead of his mentor than race back. He couldn't help it he was finally learning the territory. "I bet I'll catch a huge squirrel on my first try," he mewed and lifted his head in pride as if he had already caught his prey.

"Maybe, but probably not on the first try. But you can try as much as you want." Rowansky said. He stopped by a huge patch of moss. "When you're sent out to collect moss, this probably the best place to find it." Rowansky showed his apprentice. They kept walking. Rowansky stopped as they reached the ShadowClan border. "Stormpaw, you smell that?" He asked the apprentice. Rowansky felt himself get tense at the smell. For some reason he always thought even the smell of ShadowClan was aggressive.

ooc: thats what I've been doing. If it was after the gathering he wouldn't be there. he goes missing for several days after the gathering.

Stormpaw laughed softly, "No maybe not on my first try but I'll get one before we go back you'll see." He fallowed Rowansky until he stopped. The sent rolling towards them made his nose wrinkle. "Is that Shadowclan?" He remembered the scent from he and a couple other apprentices went exploring the day after he was made an apprentice. He had never told his mentor about that tour but he would never forget the smell of Shadowclan. "It smells nasty," he wrinkled his nose and took a step back. The smell was just terrible, it smelled almost aggressive.

"Yes Stormpaw. This, is ShadowClan." Rowansky watched him step backwards. "They're a dangerous bunch and are looking to pick a fight with everyone and almost anyone." He said. "We have to keep our border marks strong or else ShadowClan will push their scent marks closer and closer into our territory." He started to lead his apprentice away from the border. He pointed out a few key landmarks along the way. After walking for some time, the sun was high in the sky and they had reached the WindClan border. "This is the WindClan border. They have marked recently. What does it smell like?"
