Skystars pink tongue hit the clear water. The water bubbled over large stones and pebbles. Soon his gray paws became an obstacle and the water soon passed over them like they were nothing. That's what his life was a giant obstacle. He continued to the lap the water and it cascaded down his dry throat. When he lifted his head droplets fell from his white whiskers. When he was done he shook his blue gray pelt and continued onward towards RiverClans boarders patrolling alone. Things were changing for him and alone was a common theme.
Skystar hated being alone but that's how he felt all the time even with his kits around. His kits were living a lie. A huge lie. He couldn't even be with his true mate who he loved dearly and had kits with. Four kits, not five. He had to pretend to love Snowberry for his kits sake, but he would never have the heart to tell them the truth so until then he had to keep it a secret and that alone pained him to the bone.
His jaws parted as he took in the scents around him. His sea green colored eyes scanned through the reed beds. With a skeptical brow he made his way closer making sure not to cross the boarder. He knew that it would cause trouble. He sat up straight now letting the thoughts about his kits flood out of his mind and focused on what he thought may be a riverclan patrol. He looked straight forward and stood up straighter just in case there was a confrontation as to why he was so close. Then again, what kind of a threat was one ThunderClan leader?

Kestrelstar Kestrelstar was patrolling the borders once more, it seemed she was coming out more and more lately and spending less time in her den. Although, it had helped her a lot. Pebbleshine had told her a lot of exercise could help her through the healing process of loosing all those things she hadn't gotten over yet. Her mate, her kits, it was something only a large nightmare came onto for most she-cats. Kestrelstar's fur was beautiful enough to attract toms, but her heart being broken in such a way from that loner, it was where she didn't trust a faithful relationship any longer. Kestrelstar hadn't gotten to know any toms anyway, as a leader, she didn't want more kits, not more grief as to the lives lost that never got to live one step in their lives. Kestrelstar was kind as is, to make the world seem a little less brutal to everyone, not to mention the stories she offered sometimes during late into the day. Or when sun high came.
Kestrelstar made her way to the large fallen over trunk that led to the island. She stopped when she scented Thunderclan on the island. She walked across and stopped turning back a bit and looked over the little bridge. Skystar, the leader, was relaxing there. The beautiful she-cat pressed a paw on the trunk, digging her claws in to keep her balance as she situated herself onto the bark. Walking clear across steadily as she looked at the tom straight down. Lowering her head. "Hello Skystar, I didn't expect to see you here." She greeted, smiling.

The blue-gray tom flicked his ears when he heard light paws padding across the slippery trunk that lead to the island. He didn't need to turn around to know it was a RiverClan cat. ThunderClan's noble leader was prepared to defend his reasoning for being so near by. He wasn't spying on RiverClan. He had no purpose to. He came out here to patrol, but then again he also wanted to think. He didn't know what to do about Frostbite. They couldn't show their love for each other anymore and he almost felt like she didn't care about him any more. His ears were pulled back just thinking about it. He had secretly been meeting with Lilypool and he felt guilty. No they weren't mates, they never would be, but this forbidden love theme was getting him into trouble.
Skystar turned around and twitched his whiskers. His blue green eyes sparkling even though it was fake he didn't want to lead RiverClan to think ThunderClan was having problems. He dipped his head to the she-cat and flicked his tail for her to join him if she wished."greetings Kestrelstar. I didn't expect myself to be here either" the tom joked. It wasn't a lie. He just walked where his paws took him and they took him here."I also didn't think anyone else would be out here. Apologies for being so close to your territory. I don't plan on crossing boarders I promise." He mewed. Just in case she asked.

Kestrelstar [/size] Kestrelstar gave out a little bit of a laugh, she flicked her tail before flopping down on her stomach. The leader didn't mind Skystar being here, after all the island was for everyone, it's not like he was attacking her clan or anything. After all, she didn't mind having another tom to talk to, let alone a leader just like her. Lately Kestrelstar was having trouble dealing with the death of her kits. The she-cat looked over at the water for a moment, then turned back to Skystar. "It's fine, not like your disturbing anyone, beside's, this island is for all the clans. Who cares if your close to the borders." She mewed with a little bit of a kitten's laugh. Sometimes she could act like a little child. It was a better way to live she could think.
"So, what's been going on in your life nower days. I haven't seen you since last gathering" Kestrelstar wasn't trying to intrude, she was trying to start conversation. The tom was free to share any problems with her, she wasn't prejudice at all. She had even met some cats who had problems even she thought was wrong, but she still helped in any way she could to solve their problem. It was the part of protecting the heart on the sincere.

I've been sneaking around meeting with a she-cat of your clan while having a mate that's a medicine cat. That's whats wrong Kestrelstar.. Skystar thought. he pulled thoughts out of his mind. Some things he didn't want to share with her. Not because it could get ThunderClan in trouble, but he had to save some information for the gathering. That was just common sense. He thought about the apprentices and a smile formed on his muzzle. He noticed that with leaf-bare gone and warmer weather coming cats were starting to take a liking in each other. He forsaw ThunderClan having a lot of kits in the near future.
I forsee a lot of kits in my future Kestrelstar." he mewed."Well my Clans future. I've noticed Timberpaw had taken a liking in Rowansky....and Pyropaw has taken a liking to his mentor Raccoontail. You can't separate either pair. It makes me happy but Pyropaw is getting a lot of training because Raccoontail wants to spend a lot of time with him. However Training Timberpaw myself is a pain because she is with Rowansky." the tom mewed."My five....kits became apprentices." He almost said four, but then he realized that most of the clans thought he was mates with Snowberry. That meant he would have to include Hazelpaw as well.
Hazelpaw's father was in fact Lynxpelt who died a few moons before. He shook his head."Stormpaw, Brookpaw, Snowpaw,Hazelpaw and Patchpaw. Snowpaw and Brookpaw are my trouble makers. Hazelpaw is a brilliant hunter. Stormpaw is great at tracking and Patchpaw is turning into a great fighter." he mewed."How is RiverClan Kestrelstar?"

Kestrelstar half wished she could say the same for her, and her clan alike. Of course Stonepaw and Mosspaw were coming along greatly well, not to mention Whitepaw, and her own apprentice Frostpaw, they were such a delight to work with. Which just made it harder to the fact of the thought of her kits. Hopefully tonight, she would be able to visit the moonpool with Pebbleshine to consult Starclan on the matter, no matter how selfish it seemed. Kestrelstar smiled for a moment, closing her eyes. Something's bothering you for sure, but I'm not going to pry she thought before opening her muzzle to speak.
"Stonepaw and Mosspaw are soon yet to be warriors, and we have a new member in our clan. Her name is Inkheart, a kind she-cat riverclan took in as a queen, who is the mother of healthy kits for the clan. But, not much other then that has been going on. A new loner is wandering around, but she's knows of Starclan and respects the warrior code. Other then that, just usual duties, and story telling to those who want it." After all Kestrelstar was famous for her stories, in and out of Riverclan. It was a talent to be proud of as well as something to be annoyed with when cats ask her for a story constantly.

Skystar dipped his head."RiverClan is growing strong. That is excellent news. No one will judge you for taking in a loner. Starclan knows the other clans do ThunderClan will be there to defend you. No one should have to defend their own choices and if the clans start getting hostile you have peace with my Clan. If you ever need help don't be afraid to come to my camp and ask for it." the tom mewed.
He looked towards his territory and furrowed his brows. Loners and rogues that reminded him of something."Speaking of loners and rogues, yesterday I chased Summer and Church, two rogues, off my territory for the third time. I think they may have headed this way. They went towards ShadowClan but when I spoke to Reedstar he said they were headed in this direction. I figured I would warn you....they have a vicious attitude but would never use their claws."

It was nice to know the dangers that was in and around the clans. The leader had come across a few problems herself, but they would only be discussed with Starclan alone. Plus she was sure that every cat including Skystar himself had his own secrets, not to mention a few that Kestrelstar kept herself inside her mind. She nodded at the leader, looking at the swamp to their right.
"The loner I came across is a lot less hostile, her name is Rivaxorus. She's been having some family troubles so she came here for a story. She's a Calico, with green eyes I'm in the hope nobody mixes her up with those two." Kestrelstar explained. It was oddly true as well, now that all three off them were wandering the lands, if Rivaxorus was in the wrong place at the wrong time, she could be severely hurt for all the wrong reasons.

Skystar took in what the leader said and dipped his head."I will inform my patrols to look out for her. She doesn't seem like the type to attack. Summer and Church however are. I doubt she will be mistaken, at least in my territory. Actually I saw a cat like that, she appeared to be heading in the direction of the tribe lands. I hope she returns safely." Skystar made a mental image of what the she-cat should look like and just nodded his head.
Things were peaceful. There was a moment of silence and Skystars eyes looked up at Silverpelt. The stars shone brightly. It made him feel at ease knowing that Stormwind and Tigerflight were both up there looking down on him as he lead his clan."Has StarClan spoken to you at all...I mean, its truly none of my buiseness but I fear that it has been too quiet.....very quiet....I fear the worse within the moons to come. I suppose one will find out at the gathering tomorrow but...one shouldn't rely on what the clan leaders say...:

Her little brother was up there, and he was a kit, always a kit. Kestrelstar kept wondering, if he forgave her for all those moons before after his death. The last thing they ever did together was fight, and that was what led up to the cave in, into his life that was given and granted into Starclan. Kestrelstar had spoken to him last night, where she had visited starclan, but the news she found out, was even more exciting to make her look at the world and what would become of it. She surley couldn't mention it at the gathering, as the pressing matters of weather or not she would give up her leadership to become a queen, in which Kestrelstar would rather not do. The first task, was finding the kit, which ever survived, Kestrelstar would be happy when she finds her daughter or son.
"I....Spoke with them last night, but if it doesn't count, the only cat who confronted me was my little brother, to give me a message on a personal matter. Other then that, no omens, no signs that Starclan is signifying a troubling matter." Kestrelstar gave the information, her throat clogged in the middle as she took in a deep breath and settled herself in a sitting up position. Her intense blue eyes looked like clouds or water were swimming across them. As she looked at Skystar, she only wished for one moment, she could vent to the leader, but even herself knew, that there were clan secrets to be kept, because there was a difference between a cats personal life, and the one they outloaded to the others to keep updated.

Skystar looked at her sympethetically. He didn't know her deceased brother and it was none of his buiseness. He looked at the sky and knew his past deputies were watching him. Skystar shifted his weight and wanted to talk. Since she admitted that portion he supposed he could admit his half. Fire will destroy ThunderClan. "I spoke with them as well...." skystar mewed. His blue gaze locked on with Kestrelstar."I had been having constant nightmares about smoke. I decided to speak with Starclan. I think mainly was to see Tigerflight again. Everyone knew I was going to pick him as my deputy when I first became leader." Skystar looked at his paws before continuing
"It's a shame such a wonderful warrior....had to go to StarClan. I missed him I will admit....so it was nice to see him only...what they told me...made my dreams that much worse." Skystar looked at Kestrelstar. Was he saying too much? He bit his lip. Perhaps now would be a good time to stop before she knew all of his secrets.
Skystar wanted to stop ta lking but he couldn't. He knew if RiverClan and ThunderClan had conflict it would be a rough battle. Kestrelstar would know a lot about the clan, how they acted the dreams the leaders and medicine cats received from their ancestors."Fire alone once saved ThunderClan, but now it will battle it...." Skystar shook his head."ThunderClan seems doomed....for the most part..."

She couldn't say one night, she would join starclan and leave them, but now, it was in these times of need she wanted to keep them close to her. Kestrelstar already knew the pain of losing all the things she loved, and pushing herself out for her clan right after it had all happened, it had made her almost a legend among the clans. Nobody could say they felt her pain, after loosing her kits, and a very loved mate, but the fact she took on the duties of a leader, and didn't break in the process. Kestrelstar's father had given her one of her nine lives, one for the loyalty and protection she gave the clan, which was the one life she held at the deepest part of her heart. The Riverclan leader looked at Skystar and gave a small smile, to try and make it seem all better, even though in the end, it never would be.
"If your clan is ever in trouble Skystar, never hesitate to ask Riverclan for help. I can't imagine losing my entire family, and if it is true Starclan has told you this, then Riverclan will be there to support your clan. For we alone are warriors, and warriors as we stand, must help each other in great times of nature being corrupted. The same as when our ancestors left their old home to come here, there was a time of unity and I'm sure there will be many ahead" Kestrelstar sounded almost like a hypocrite, but it was the best advice she could give in this moment. The leader's tail twitched in sadness, at the thought of what might become of her clan after her kit was found, or even more so, it had been three moons, would the kit want to leave it's new found home, wherever it was? Kestrelstar lowered her eyes when she thought about it, she woudl travel alone, by herself to look for the kit, for she didn't want to alarm the clan, it wasn't like she would be gone for long. "Sometimes, I feel like I kid myself with everything I say. Somethings, more then others that are kept close at my heart." Kestrelstar whispered, crossing her paws as she set her head on them. Perhaps she was sharing too much, but who else besides herself could she share it with.

Skystar listened to Kestrelstar."If ThunderClan ever gets itself into that much trouble, I will not be afraid to request assistance. I wise cat asks for help when needed, a not so wise cat will try to solve the problem but will more than likely make it worse. That's how mistakes in clans happen." Skystar layed down restined his muzzle on his paws whilst looking at the sky."I don't know what StarClan has in store for ThunderClan or for your clan for that matter, but we will be ready. Frostbite is a good medicine cat, if something were to happen she would take care of it." Skystar looked at Kestrelstar and knew that these two shared a tight bond. Not a bond mates would have, not that wasn't it. They were good friends. He never knew as an apprentice or leader that he would ally with RiverClan. The elders told stories about allying with WindClan...well this time it is different."If you need something from me, herbs, help in a risky adventure,a place to sleep, prey....my warriors won't question my motives....I promise....." he mewed looking at the she-cat.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,430,true] | [atrb=background,http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss40/Milkyface4455/Table2-1.jpg] Kestrelstar had been around the world and back in her life, and she had a lot ahead of her, because leaders lived longer then the usual warrior most of the time. The leader looked at silverpelt and rested her head, as she smiled a bit. If it wasn't so hard to think, or decide about it, they could move to another time, where everything they did made a big difference. Most could feel useless, and that they had nothing to do, if not leader, then what else were they? The she-cat silently hummed a small lullaby that her mother had sang to her and her siblings when she was little. It brought back some memories, she held close to her. She stopped a little but into it though facing the tom. "Can I tell you a story Skystar?" She asked.
"There was a kit once, bright, enthusiastic, like any other kit, this kit, had a brother and a sister. She was bonded to her sister and her family more then anything. But, she and her brother, didn't have the best relationship. This kit and her brother would fight all the time, to the point where if it got bad their father as a warrior had to pull them apart. Though on the inside, the she-cat felt strongly towards her brother, it was that she thought, he was so full of himself, and she didn't know what less he thought of her. The other sister, usually just stayed away and stuck with her sister, at all costs, the brother was always alone. On the night before their apprentice ceremonies a fox attacked and the clan went looking for it, the brother determined to find it himself wondered out of camp. The two sisters followed him and the older sister who fought with him, argued again. Without the father there to separate them, the younger sister was left to try and pry them apart, even though it didn't work. And the cave they were in at the time, collapsed, the fight caused only enough time for the two sisters to escape, leaving their brother to be crushed by the rocks. And, that was the last they saw of their brother, and the entire reason he hadn't been able to get out, was over a fight with his sister."
Kestrelstar told the story with much emotion, moving her tail, and her paws as well. As she had a reputation for her story telling, though, this one, had some sort of effect into it she hadn't shown before. She acted like a kit, acting out a great battle, jumping up at some moment, lowering her head at others with a sad face, and represented her father with a proud stance. Though it was a true story, she tried to conceal that the story was about the day her brother died. Kestrelstar finished her story and sat down again. "Do you think the brother would ever forgive his sister? Or that he blamed her in the first place Skystar?" She asked, a twinkle in the back of her eyes.
