The calio cat padded through her territory heading for a little stream. She had just finished picking ticks out of an elders fur and she needed to get a nasty taske out of her mouth. coming to a stream she took in some water and swished it in her mouth then spit it back out. Aspenfrost then sat down and cleaned around her muzzle with her paw.
That did take long and the warrior then got up and decided to hunt a bit. Not long after she got up a mouse was out and about looking for food. Aspenfrost got down low and started stalking it until it got up and ran away. Aspenfrost lifted her head and looked around to see why it raced off.

Grace, and swiftness are the key ingredients in being a good hunter. Grace to move with precision and silence, and swiftness to do it fast. It was a fairly simple concept, being graceful and being swift, a concept that the bicoloured cat understood well enough, and could put into action on the best of days. But it was never something she had taken the time in perfecting. It didn't seem important to her, it was merely an inconvenience and a waste of time in the she-cats opinion. Patience wasn't something that she was very good at, therefore, the cause of her less than flawless hunting abilities. It annoyed her when she had to sit and wait for the scent of an animal to come drifting over to her, and then even more so when she had to try and locate the darn thing. No, she was much more of a hunting person, just jumping in and going for it, not sitting idly by, waiting for something to come up and nip her in the butt. It wasn't how she rolled.
A perfect example was being hopelessly illustrated in the way her haunches were twitching at the present moment. Head down and trying to keep her body still, she blatantly failed at doing so. Tail flicking back and forth, not wanting to stay still for something as mindless as a foolish hunt that she wasn't even sent on for StarClan sake! Whiskers moving a hair as the object of interest that was present on a log, so lazily unaware of the predator hiding within the trees waiting to pounce, she slunk forward. One paw ... in front ... of the other ... Practiced eyes locked onto the dusty gray mouse perched on the log. One more step ... The mouses whiskers twitched and its head swivelled to look at her. Terncall could've sworn the two of them had made eye contact before it darted off in the opposite direction, leaving no trace of it's existence, except for the outline that the she-cat could still see. Sighing, she stood up to her full height and looked around her, plotting where she was in accordance to the camp, and instead finding herself gazing upon one of her fellow Clanmates.
"Oh, hello Aspenfrost. I take it you're the reason my mouse darted off?" The words were delivered dryly, not to be mistaken for cold, or rude, it was merely the way the she-cat spoke. It wasn't that she was rude, just that she spoke what was on her mind, regardless of the situation. Terncall was not accusing nor scolding the other warrior, just asking a question. Stepping lightly around a small bush that must've blocked her view from the other she-cat. "It was a scrawny piece of crow-food anyways." Throwing the comment out there in an off hand way, she shrugged her shoulders as her tail swished slowly behind her, her feathery fur drifting from side to side.

Aspenfrost had her eyes glitter at the sight of her clan mate. Terncall. She gave a smile as the warrior padded up to her. She then gave a look at her paws then out at the direction the little creature ran away to. "Its food. no matter how scrawny it is its still food for the clan. sure ti wont be much but its something." She gave a little laugh and mewed, "I cant be going up to ever badger in this territory and asking if they know any fat mice in the woods that I can kill for shadowclan." She looked back at her warrior friend and asked, "Would you like to hunt with me? The more warriors hunting the more pery to feed the clan which means more happy bellies and a proud leader."

The black and white warrior, unsure how to take the she-cats words at first, ear flicked uncomfortably. However, the look in the other ShadowClan cats eye was not a cruel one, but rather a kind one. A smile touched her features and the chuckle Aspenfrost delivered, releived the feeling of discomfort from the warrior. There was truth in the she-cats words in consideration to the mouse, but there was no used thinking about it now, the mouse would be long gone. The smile grew larger in response to her good natured comment and her whiskers twitched with amusement.
"Well, you could. But that wouldn't be to smart, now would it? And, badgers don't speak cat, so it would be rather pointless." Terncall's sense of humour, different from others, came off rather rude in most cases to cats who didn't know her. Either way she could care less whether they found her rude or not. Nodding, to the she-cats question she glanced away into the swampy forest she called her home. "Absolutely, the more prey the merrier, and the more that is left over for us!" Eyes crinkling in an ear to ear smile, she opened her mouth and scented the air.

Aspenfrost nodded to her friend but didnt say another word about her little joke. She didnt feel like pressing anything on. What was the need to? She let it roll off her back and forgot about the whole thing. She then got a smile going when terncall agreed to hunt with her. She opened her mouth as well and looked around her dark shadowy home. Leaves rustled not far from where they were and not far from their hopped a crow. Not a big one but one that would do for an elder or queen. She glanced over at terncall and whispered, "After you.." She gave a playful smile and stayed where she was to let the other warrior do her hunting.

It was only a moment before the she-cat got a response from the other warrior, and she didn't bother to reply to her before nodding to her and letting her eyes focus on the ugly crow that was perched in front of the two warriors. With her eyes and mind focused on the hunt, her haunches fell to the forest floor, her belly fur brushing against the mossy undergrowth. With a steady step, she crept forward, one paw softly in front of the other, until she was in a good position to leap forward and take it down. Drawing in a short breath, the huntress wiggled his butt tightening her muscles and then releasing them, her strength launching her forward.
The impact of the large she-cat into the crow was enough to feel it;s fragile bones snap. Once both creatures landed on the ground, the crow squirming and cawing it's last breaths, Terncall clamped her jaws around it's neck, feeling and hearing the satisfying crack! of it in her mouth. Pride flushing through her body at her successful catch, she stood up straight and grinned at Aspenfrost like a kit. It wasn't very often that she made a catch like that, even more rarely a bird of prey. Dipping her head to lift the bird from the ground, she walked it over to the other she-cat and dropped it at the bast of a tree and buried it for later.
"One for me, now one for you." Terncall mewed lightly, keeping her tone soft and the key low as to not alert any of the other prey that might be in the area.

Aspenfrost smiled and was about to tell her friend how that was really good when a vole wasnt to far from them. Aspenfrost got this one. She put her head down and slowly stalked the mouse. She got down low almost touching the earth. She stayed still for one second and the next thing she knew the mouse up and ran. Aspenfrost growled and chased after the mouse. She was a little bit behind it but once after she picked up speed she jumped the mouse and tumbled and rolled with the mouse in her paws and then soon in her teeth and giving a good bite the mouse was dead. Dust was everywhere and Aspenfrost padded out of the dustcloud with a dead animal on her mouth.
She padded up to Terncall and panted. She looked down at her leg and saw she was bleeding. She must have scratched herself while she tackled the little mouse brained fool. She gave it a quick but sadly it didnt stop the bleeding but she didnt bother with it. "Well, that was..unexpected.."

Not being the best hunter by any stretch of the imagination in ShadowClan, she loved to watch other cats hunt. It helped her work on her technique and get better at the skill that was causing her such problems in most cases. With her yellow eyes locked on Aspenfrost as she stalked forward, Terncall studied her stance, the way she walked, the steadiness of her body and the dead lock focus that her entire body seemed to be moulded into.
Ears twitching and tail flicking with anticipation of her to make the catch, the young warrior took a few steps forward, but soon lost sight of the other warrior as she took off after the prey of interest. Sitting back on her feet, not letting her hind end hit the ground, she waited rather impatiently for the other cat to return, hoping that the mouse would be dangling from her jaws, just as the crow had dangled from the her own, only a few moments ago.
A breath later the gray she-cat approached and Terncall smiled in praise of the she-cats catch. However, as she got closer, the smell of blood ignited her senses and her brow furrowed slightly. Unable to locate it, she tried to dismiss it. The other warrior looked down at her own leg, and Terncall followed her gaze, seeing the gash in her leg. Pursing her lips, she shook her head.
"That looks painful, Aspenfrost."
[/b] Stating the obvious, she looked away, and sniffed the air again, this time barely catching the scent of any of the little forest critters in the area. "Want to go somewhere else and hunt?" Terncall inquired, her paws itching to hunt again after her first successful catch.[/blockquote][/size][/blockquote]

Aspenfrost looked down at her leg and amiled, "We have a medicine cat to worry about these things dont we?" She looked up at terncall and nodded. "I cant refuse to say no after how much we are on a roll!" She looked around and asked, "Where do you think would be a good place to hunt? I think we need to go somewhere else a bit darker. In my opinion. If you have another option then I will be more then happy to go along with your idea." She sat down with her tail around her barely touching her. She bent down to lick her wound and luckly she was seeing it was bleeding less and less. She looked back up and waited for her friends answer.

Looking at her friend as she responded, she pondered her answerThey could go to the carrion place and scope out clean prey there. No, that would put the Clans life in danger. Racking her brains, she thought of the northern end of their border, where the trees got thick, and the swamp got deep. Newts, and frogs were in abundance there, but also water voles. The chances were good, and it seemed like a good idea. Returning the she-cats smile, she stood up to her full height, her ears perked up on her head.
"I think we should go to the north end of the territory. Might get a bit of variety in our catch. We've got nothing to lose, so it seems like good idea." Spitting out her answer, she turned and walked away, not waiting for the other she-cat. Before today, the predominately black cat had never really taken the time to talk to Aspenfrost, but she was glad that she was. Their personalities seemed to be a nice contrast to each other. However, Terncall felt the usual darkness touch her mind, and put the ache back in her heart. A sigh escaped her lips, of course it would come when she was having a good time. Tail lashing behind her with frustration, she glanced over her shoulder, her eyes now with a distant look cast over the usual bright yellow, looking for her new friend.

Aspenfrost didnt argue. She gave a nod and she saw Terncall padd away into the forest. Picking up her vole and the bird she raced after the she cat and let her take the lead until they got to the part of the forest as to what she was talking about. It wasnt a long walk. The trees were getting thicker and a swamp wasnt too far from where they were. She saw a huge frog jump into the water and aspenfrost couldnt help but a get a bit excited. She hadnt really hunted in this part of her home before. It was going to be harder trying to manover aroung trees but what was hunting with out a bit of a challenge?

The figure of the other warrior soon came into her view, and she straightened out her neck to see in front of her. Weaving through a tight squeeze, she came out into a horde of trees, the floor so dark she could've mistaken it for dusk. Tail flicking subconsciously, she observed the area, and her ear swivelled back as she head Aspenfrost approach with the prey. Oops. She thought as she remembered that one of those pieces of prey was her responsibility. Mentally shrugging her shoulders, her attention was stolen by the sound of a creature breaking the silence with a splash into the boggy water that was surrounding them. Opening her mouth, she drew in the scents, many reaching her, all of them the smell of prey. Turning her head to look to Aspenfrost, she backed away so that they were at the same position, but a fox length was between their sides.
"You go first?" Asking it rather than ordering it, she figured this would be a good chance to grab a few ideas about whether or not she had and chance at all of catching something in this area. Sitting back on the soppy ground, she felt the moisture soak through her long fur and to her skin, cooling her by sending a racing shiver up her spine.
