The brown she-cat tilted her head to the side. A small pool of water had formed over the frozen streams that flowed through Riverclan's territory. Mosspaw stared at her own reflection for awhile. After a few moments she would dip her paw in the freezing water unphased by it and watch the water ripple and deform her reflection. The she-cat coughed a few times before twitching her whiskers with amusement. She was only allowed two training sessions a week due to her low immune system. that was okay, she didn't care how long it took to become a warrior.
Mosspaw let out a giggle. Everytime her reflection deformed her whiskers twitched with amusement. For being sick all the time, she was such a happy go lucky kind of apprentice. She didn't normally see the wrong in people. Her ears flickered back and forth when she heard one of her clan mates coming. She didn't really care however. She was simply amused by dippping her paw in the waters. The things that amused the young apprentice were endless.

Slushstep watched the mist that held in the chilled air after he exhaled, his bright azure eyes narrowed slightly. His small pink nose twitched as it detected a small other than the deadness of the grasses around him. He parted his jaws to further inspect the scent; it was a fellow clanmate. The RiverClan warrior picked up his pace slightly, following the scent. Slushstep pushed his way through the reeds and spotted Mosspaw, smiling lightly he cleared his throat, “Hello Mosspaw, did they finally let you out of camp?” he joked lightly; knowing the younger female must always hate being cooped up in the camp all day, constantly being seen by the Medicine Cat.

Mosspaw's whiskers twitched at Slushsteps joke. Sometimes you just had to lighten the mood to make everyone less awkward or happy. Mosspaw was one of those cats. Her brown fur fluffed up as the temperature dropped a bit more. The she-cat still continued to dip her paw in the small pool of water. Perhaps the reason why she distorted her image was to see what she really was. She was special, Starclan made her the way she was for a reason and she was ok with that. She wanted to be a warrior and one day she would be.
The she-cat looked Slushtep in the eye and just nodded with enthusiasm. "Sure did, but I had to promise I would get sick again. They get sick of me in there sometimes. " She beamed."But I break the promise every time. I'm shocked they still let me venture out of the camp." She mewed while ruffling her fur."It isn't every day a clan gets a cat like me who get sicker than a dead fox every moon." She mewed in a hint of amusement in her tone.

The dusty brown and white tabby crouched beside the smaller brown cat. He smiled as he watched her dip her paw in the water, her obvious fascination with the rippled the disturbance on the surface made. His tick fur fluffed slightly as the wind picked up slightly. Slushstep could not help but admire Mosspaw’s outlook on things. Even though she was constantly sick, the young female managed to stay positive, and put a smile on everyone’s face. ”Ahh I wouldn’t worry about them, the medicine cat gets sick of everyone from time to time” He chuckled slightly. His fluffy tail slicked back and forth slowly. ”That is true, you are quite rare” he mused quietly. The warrior moved a large paw from underneath of himself and dipped it into the ice cold water, his bright azure eyes following the ripples.

Mosspaw watched as the tom dipped his paw into the water and made ripples flow out in circular motions. For some reason they just kept Mosspaw amused all day long."It's amusing isn't it? you see your reflection and what it really is, you may think you have many flaws so you make your reflection ripple by placing your paw in the water." the she-cat mewed. She looked at her still reflection and made her own reflection ripple out."Then when it stops...you can see how special you really are. It's probably the reason why I'm out here all day long." she mewed. Once again she placed her paw in the water. It was only the one paw and she did it over and over again.
She tilted her head to the side and shook the water from her paw. She knew she would get sick if she continued to do so but it made her feel good about herself everytime she did."I'm generally out here every day. I have to be. It helps since I was told the kits in the nursery will be a warrior before me." she shrugged she didn't really care to much."At least my life will be easier. Ill be an apprentice for like an eternity. While they all have to do warrior things." she mused.

Slushstep pondered her words for a moment, nodded ”Yes, it is amusing, and I see your point.” The tom turned his azure gaze onto the green eyed female. ”That is also true…and you needn’t be out here all day long just to see that you are special, you should know you are special all ready” He meowed. He listen to her speak about kits becoming warriors before herself, and momentarily thought her to be silly, but then realized it could possibly be true. ”No, you won’t have to worry about warrior duties, but you will miss out on the memorable experience of training your very own apprentice.” He dabbled a paw into the water again and watched the ripples again, his bigger than hers.

Mosspaw frowned. This was true. The apprentice would miss out on that. However, training an apprentice was the least of her worries. She simply shrugged that thought away. She would just have to get an apprentice later on in life. That was no big deal she would get one eventually and that was all that mattered to her.I'm not overly worried about that Slushstep. I will get one in time. When I do get one I will have so many moons of experience that I will train mine to be an excellent warrior." She mewed. She then thought for a moment. But I honestly want to be a queen one day more than I want to be a Mentor. Yes I love to show off what skills I have but something about being a mother just muses me."

Slushstep nodded briefly, that was true she probably would get one eventually. ”That is true, you will get one eventually, and you will have moons of experience to teach them” he mused. He withdrew his paw from the water, shaking the remaining water from it, the RiverClan warrior tucked it back underneath of him. The tom paused for a moment as he listed to the young she-cat express her desires to become a queen. Sure a family would be nice, later on in life, but why think of that so early? ”A family would be nice, but why so early?” The tom asked. He agreed a family would be nice, being a father intrigued him slightly.

Mosspaw let out a mrooow of laughter."I'm only 8 moons old Slushstep. I didn't mean now." Her whiskers twitched with amusements. She too withdrew her paw and looked at the tom with amusement in her green eyes. She simply shook her head with a smile forming on her muzzleMaybe when i'm 13 or 14 moons but I need to find the right tom first. I just have motherly instincts I guess. I can't get enough of kits. Perhaps because I'm stuck helping the medicine cat all day and usually treat the kits." she mewed with a sparkle in her forest green hues.

Slushstep nodded laughing himself. ”I know not now Mosspaw, but I was simply asking why it was in your thoughts this early.” He asked ”I would expect you to wait until then, it’s quite frowned upon any earlier, not to mention the complications that could arise.” He turned his bright azure eyes to meet her green ones. ”I suppose you would acquire motherly instincts from dealing with kits all day long. In fact, I’m rather surprised you do not wish to be the Medicine Cat’s apprentice, what with spending all of your time there? I would think you would know it all.” The tabby and white tom laughed.

The brown she-cat snorted. She become the medicine cat apprentice. She shook that thought out of her head as quickly as it entered."Of thought about it slushstep, I just can't bring myself to accept the fact that my life gets taken away to be with Starclan. No kits can't love a tom, the thought doesn't sound appealing to be honest. If I could still love someone then I would it's that rule that breaks it for me." she mewed. She let out a sigh. Everyone assumed she knew it all she knew some not everything."I know just enough to help out. I would be able to heal an entire clan after a rough battle, or if greencough broke out, just enough to make things easier.
