Silence. Dark. No movement. He sat in a far dark corner of the camp, unseen, unnoticed, invisible. His breathing is slow and even, his eyes thin and watchful because from here he could see the entire camp but none of them would see him. But he wasn't hiding, or sneaking around, or even spying.
Olivedust was just, sitting. He just loved to keep to himself, let the other cats shine, perfectly content on avoiding the spotlight. It was because of this nature that he became the best at camouflage in his clan, and his ocelot eye that let him see far more than his clanmates. Even with all these extraordinary abilities, he hated the spotlight. So there he sat, watching, waiting.

Fallingstar awoke from her slumber, her green eyes bright. Her breathing was rapid and she could still hear the frightful yowls in her mind. Closing her eyes she shivered. Nightmares. Lately they plagued her existence. Why she had no idea. She kept blaming the rabbits she ate, thinking they were causing her to have some strange dreams, but now she was second-guessing that.
With a sigh she strolled from her den, looking around. Immediately she could sense something watching her from her left. Fallingstar turned her gaze. While she couldn’t see the cat in his entirety, she could make out his eyes when the moon hit them just right. Moving her way around she came up behind him, smiling. “Hello Olivedust.” She meowed, swiping her tongue over her paw.

Olivedust saw his leader Fallingstar exit her den looking rather troubled. He was slightly curious, but didn't want to pry so he just continued his watch, scanning the camp for anything unusual. The kits were scuffling in front of the nursery with their mothers nearby, warriors came and went for patrols, and the apprentices helping out the elders. Everything was normal.
It dawned on Olivedust that Fallingstar had sensed him in his little dark corner. Padding up from his right to say hello. If she didn't know him so well, she might never had found him, but she always had that way of knowing. Fallingstar wasn't leader for nothing. He looked over at her, dipping his head in respect and flicking his tail in response, saying nothing as he always did.

Fallingstar gave him a playful nudge. “Oh c’mon Olivedust, don’t be such a downer.” She purred, her green eyes shining. The sun had fully set by now and most everyone was returning to their dens. Across the camp she could see the queens shooing the kits into the nursery, where they protested indigently. She chuckled. Oh to be a kit again. Being leader was a hard task, but also rewarding. She would need to choose a deputy soon.
A few cats were in her mind, Olivedust being one. She wondered if he were even up to it. Perhaps taking him out to talk would help him open up to her. After all, StarClan wasn’t offering her much help in choosing, so she’d have to do so herself. Looking into his tan eyes she smiled. “Let’s talk a walk shall we?” she meowed, making her way towards the exit.

As Olivedust watched the camp begin it's usual nighttime routine, Fallingstar nudged him playfully, the unprepared warrior lost his balance for a moment and looked at Fallingstar with a glance of embarrassment. He shuffled himself to a standing position. He didn't really think of himself as a downer, but then again, he never really said too much. "Sure." He said with a confused look, and waited for her to go first.
As the light began to fade, so did Olivedust, his fur naturally making him blend in because of the way it broke up his shape. He began to wonder if Fallingstar would be able to track of him after a while. Then Olivedust realized that he was spacing out and turned with a panicked look to Fallingstar to make sure she hadn't noticed.

Fallingstar hardly noticed the warriors flitting thoughts. Her own mind was wandering as well. The more she thought about it the more she doubted that Olivedust was the right cat for deputy. Not that she didn’t trust the young warrior, no. He had proved himself time and time again in moons that had passed. However something else stirred when Fallingstar looked at him, and it was rather annoying that she couldn’t place it. Fallingstar gave a small sigh. Sometimes she was foolish and she wondered how she would lead her clan to greatness. It was annoying to think about really.
Turning she caught the warrior looking at her with a mix of worry. A purr rumbled from her chest. “Olivedust you do not always need to be so worried. You may relax around me, I am your clanmate just as much as I am your leader.” She purred. Finally she spotted what she was looking for. A large smooth gray stone that jutted out of the ground and up to the sky. Bunching her haunches she jumped up and peered over the ledge. “Hurry up slow poke. You are WindClan are you not?”
