OOC: Shes not a mute cat lol she just doesnt talk much unless she has something to say. She is quiet and keeps to herself but that will change now that she has Icepaw as an apprentice.
Skyfire padded out of the warriors den bright and early. She was just assigned an apprentice Icepaw yesterday and now it was time to get things moving right along. She looked around to see if her apprentice was up but sadly she was not. Skyfire couldnt help but give out a growl and she padded over to the apprentices den. She welcomed herself in and stood above the apprentice growling. "Icepaw!" she yelled at the top of her lungs. Her eyes glared at the apprentice hoping that it did some good to wake up the young she cat. She heard other apprentices complain but skyfire was only here for one reason. "If your friend was up and ready to go then I wouldnt be in here waking everyone up!" she hissed.

Icepaw's ice blue eyes shot wide open as she was brought out of a nice dream by the yowl of an angry sounding she-cat. When she tilted her head upward she saw a blurry multicolored cat with angry looking bright yellow eyes. As she blinked a few times the image became more clear and she realized with horror that this was her new mentor, Skyfire. Jolting upright she cringed at Skyfire's harsh words against her. She already wasn't very popular among her den mates seeing as she was quiet and out of place, and now they wouldn't let this go for days.
She shook her pelt trying to get rid of her sleepyness, feeling a tinge of dread as she gazed at her mentor. First day of training and she was already sleeping in, she could tell this relationship might not start out too well. "I..I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sleep in, I promise it won't happen again." She spoke quietly, voice slightly shaking in intimidation. She wasn't used to getting scowled, and she figured it would happen a lot so it was about time she got over herself. Slowly she padded out of the apprentices den, trying her best to ignore their annoyed grumbles as she came into the center of camp.
Icepaw could feel her ears grow hot as she waited for her mentor, scared of what would come next.

Skyfire rolled her eyes and padded out of the apprentices den still hearing complaints from the other apprentices. They would have to get up anyways so that didnt matter to her. "We...well I will be showing you around your home today. Get to know the boundries and sents and things like that I guess." Padding out of the camp she left giving no food for her apprentice. She wasnt going to take this very easy for her. There will be times when you have to do border patrols on an empty stomach, also the clan did come first right? Cant be stuffing your face before everyone else. skyfire stayed silent through the whole trip. She then stopped at the edge of the forest that then opened to a huge open field full of grass and just beyond the field you were able to see the beautiful sun start coming up. "This is called the Moorlands. Here you can hunt basically anything you want. Rabbits are usually more popular here along with birds. caught a bird once actually here they arent easy to track down. Anyways, you can find your prey usually here. Just watch out for two legs and their dogs, some come this way but most of the time they stay near their masters and dont go far. Still be careful."

Icepaw couldn't help but be a bit scared of her mentor, the she-cat just had a mean attitude about herself. Or maybe it wasn't that she was mean, rather just that Icepaw wasn't used to getting lectured by other cats. Her parents had always been protective of her, but they also barely yelled at her because they were afraid of ruining the relationship between them and their only kit. She didn't exactly understand why so many of the apprentices had been complaining about being woken up, their mentors would most likely be wanting to train them soon anyway.
She returned her attention to her mentor as she began to explain to Icepaw what is was they would be doing today. It was stuff that didn't sound very interesting, but Icepaw knew it must be important to learn if it was the first thing her mentor was teaching her. She had been out and about in the territory before but wasn't familiar with all of the scents or borders yet, so this would be quite useful to her.
Icepaw didn't mind not eating right away, she was a small cat so it didn't take much to make her full and the night before she had eaten a much larger portion than usually, so her belly still felt like it was satisfied. She knew by the time they got back that she would probably be hungry though, so she made a mental note to prepare herself. Icepaw followed her mentor out of the camp and let her eyes trail over every little thing, taking it all in as she enjoyed the silence. Most cats would be trying to make conversation but Skyfire was obviously the quiet type which suited Icepaw just fine.
Icepaw thought that Windclan's territory was very beautiful, even during leafbare when thin layers of cool snow lay on the grassy moorlands. When Skyfire started talking about hunting Icepaw grew excited, though she wouldn't show it. "When will I start learning how to hunt?" she asked curiously.

Skyfire heard her apprentice and just in time a voles head poped out of the grass to look around and then went back down. skyfire lowered her head and whispered, "Now." She raised her eyebrow at her apprentice as if telling her to give it a shot. "Remember to go slowly and quietly. Make sure your down wind of the animal not upwind or it will smell you and you lost your chance of ever catching it." She still keot her eyes on the spot where the vole was and hoped that her apprentice was watching to. "Keep your balance and dont lock anything in your body, you will know when its time to spring. Just gotta feel it in yourself." She then padded away from her apprentice and mewed, "I'll be watching!" with that she was gone in a flash into the grass. She was going to get a good spot and watch to see if icepaw could to this.

Icepaw noticed the vole a few seconds after Skyfire said they would start hunting at that very moment. She wasn't ashamed that it had taken her a bit longer to spot the small bird, she wasn't as skilled a hunter as Skyfire. It would take her a few more training sessions until she was able to sense that prey was around and be able to spot it quickly. She turned her head to her mentor, listening with rapt attention as she explained how to go about hunting her prey. This would be the first time she ever killed anything, and she was slightly nervous at this fact. However, Icepaw knew that a good amount of prey was essential for the clan to survive, so she would do her absolute best...not to mention the fact that she wanted Skyfire to be happy to have her as an apprentice.
Icepaw nodded once to show Skyfire that she had listened to her instructions, then she turned her wintery blue eyes to the vole and kept them there, refusing to blink even once. Slowly she tested the wind, making sure that she was down wind as Skyfire had said before crouching down. Her eyes were glued to the vole, she refused to look at anything else. She kept her ears pricked for the smallest sound, so she would be aware of anything else that could potentially scare the vole away. Then she slowly began to make her way forward, as silent as a mouse. She allowed her body to loosen up a bit as she grew closer to the vole, but not too much so that she wouldn't chance making a noise and scaring the bird away.
As she got closer and close the bird suddenly looked up and went utterly still. It was now that Icepaw made a quick decision, and it a split second she leaped through the air and landed right on top of the bird. As quick as a snake injecting its prey with venom, Icepaw sunk her sharp teeth into the voles neck and killed it. She was surprised at how easy it had been for her to claim the life of another animal. After a second she picked up the vole in her mouth and padded back to the spot that she had last been talking to Skyfire. She lay down the vole and sat on her haunches, waiting for her mentor to come from wherever she had been hiding. She was nervous to see what her mentor had to say about her hunting skills.

Wildfire padded out of the grass with a bird in her mouth and set it down next to her apprentices dead fresh kill. She looked at the vole then at her apprentice. "Good job Icepaw. Personally I wouldnt have waited so long. It was great you jumped at the moment you thought what was right but I'm sure you could have jumped a few seconds before. Just saying. You also need to keep your body lower to the ground. Make sure you know where you need to step when your hunting so you dont step on a twig or anything but none the less wonderful job. Now we can both take our fresh kill with us and I'll keep showing you around. How does that sound?" she mewed.

Icepaw looked up when she heard the very soft paw steps of Skyfire coming near. She saw that her mentor had a very good sized bird in her mouth, and was impressed that she was able to go off and find more prey so easily. She guessed that her mentor was a very good hunter, and hope that one day she could be that good. As soon as she heard the words 'good job' out of Skyfire's mouth Icepaw felt relieved. She didn't feel all high and mighty from the praise, for some advice on things she had done wrong, or needed to work on, came next. But it still caused her to feel good about herself, knowing that she hadn't utterly failed on her very first day of hunting.
She nodded her head and spoke softly "Thank you Skyfire. I will make sure to work on my timing and body position." She knew it would have been fine to not say anything, but she wanted Skyfire to know that she was listening, and taking every last thing her mentor said into consideration. Icepaw was happy that she would have fresh kill to take back to the clan with her, it would show that not only was she good at learning, but that her mentor was good at teaching. "That sounds perfecct." Icepaw mewed back softly before picking her vole back up with her mouth and waiting for Skyfire to take the lead.

Skyfire nodded, picked up her bird and took the lead. She took her time for Icepaw to take in everything and anything that could help her remember things about her home. Skyfire then stopped and set her bird down and looked back at her apprentice. She waited for Icepaw to come up next to her to talk. "This is where the training will be taking place. You and I will come here tomorrow. I will teach you some fighting moves you will repeate them to me and we will also have a battle between you and I. Apprentice will come here often with each other to practice on each other. Dont be surprised if we do end up seeing another apprentice and its mentor. They just might want to challenge you to a fight. If your luck us mentors will give you a taste of what we have learned also."
