The tom woke up and could see his breath. Ruffling his ginger fur he paced out of his den. He looked to the left then the right. With a stretch of his back legs he padded over to the fresh kill pile. He picked a plump baby rabbit and tore it away. He was a growing tom and needed to eat. At least he was kind enough to leave all the bigger catches for the queens and elders. With a snort he made his way into his own little corner where he dug his fangs into the rabbits skin. It was just moments before the prey was gone. Swiping his tongue around his muzzle, he thanked Starclan for his meal before making his way back to camp.
His eyes fell on Fallenstar. A young she-cat and leader. With a raised brow he padded over to her. The ginger apprentice wasn't a bad tom, and he was a great fighter, not the best hunter but he could catch enough in a day to feed a few cats. Perhaps the she-cat needed some help. With a lazy and slow stride he made his way over to her."Did you want to patrol or something?" The tom mewed.

Fallingstar steeped out from her den shaking herself. The morning was cool and crisp and the camp fairly quiet other than the soft sigh of the wind rolling through the hills. Fallingstar smiled. Today would be a good day. If only she could get her apprentice in line. Not that he was a bad cat, but he was always causing a little trouble here and their.
Speak of the devil, she heard his voice come up to her, smooth as a rabbits fur. Looking at him with green eyes shining she purred. “As a matter of fact I was going to suggest that myself. We could train your hunting skills up.” She meowed, giving a light stretch.

Foxpaw blinked twice before looking at Fallingstar. Of course she would want to train his hunting. Foxpaw wasn't meant to be perfect, no he wasn't. He snorted before nodding to Fallingstar. He would much rather fight, which of course was where he was strongest at. The ginger and white tom started padding towards the camp entrance."Coming?" he mewed. He wasn't overly excited but he would be able to get out of camp which was something he has wanted to do all day."we will be able to work on battling again too right? I don't want my skills to get overly rusty..."

Fallingstar chuckled. Foxpaw was so young and ambitious. But they needed cats like that in WindClan. Too often they were looked down upon by the other clans. They were called weak, too quick to flee and too quick to trust. Fallingstar wouldn’t deny the first accusation. After all living in the open has its dangers and WindClan cats are swift and agile. They realize that sometimes flight is a better choice than being killed.
Fallingstar shook her head, following Foxpaw. “Of course we can have battle training. But only after you have shown me your hunting skills. Have you been practicing what I last taught you?” she inquired, her emerald gaze looking at Foxpaw with an amused gleam.

The ginger and white tom flicked his ears. He had practiced, but he still wasn't good at it. He let out a sigh. Fallingstar would probably be upset with the fact he still hadn't mastered it. Maybe he could have practiced yersterday instead of play fighting with the other apprentices. He did however prove he was strongest which made him a bit more happy. He knew though to be a good warrior his hunting skills would have to be up to par. Fighting wasn't used every day hunting was. However, Foxpaw knew he would be able to defend his clan successfully."I practiced....I still can't do it well. Better than when we last did it though. I probably could have practiced a bit more yesterday but the apprentices were play fighting...but I did practice the days before like you asked!" Foxpaw mewed.

Fallingstar gave a small purr. "Foxpaw i don't want you slacking." she meowed sternly, eyeing him. But then her voice softened. "However i do remember what it was like to be an apprentice, and we all need a break sometime." Fallingstar stopped in her tracks, her ears flicking. Something was off. Scenting the air she could make out the scent of something she was less than pleased about. A fox. "What in StarClan's name is it doing around here?" she hissed. A stupid question after all. Stealing their rabbits of course. She looked back at Foxpaw. "Alright follow me but quietly. It seems like we're downwind. And whatever you do, do not attack it unless i say so. Got it?"

The ginger and white tom just nodded. He parted his jaws and let the scent of the ginger red and white creature flow into his scent glands. He was named after that creature because of his size. He was proving himself worthy of the name by his fighting skills too. His heart skipped a beat. He would be able to fight a huge fox! This was something he would be able to brag about later on. It looked like there wouldn't be much hunting today and he honestly loved the idea.
Foxpaw's claws dug into the ground as he waited. The tip of his tail flicked back and forth with anticipation. He loved the idea of being able to show Fallingstar how well she taught him how to battle. He loved making Fallingstar happy. He was ambitious with his fighting but not to the point where he would attempt anything foolish."on your word Fallingstar. Hopefully I will be able to show you how strong i've become and maybe I can have my battle assessment soon!" his voice was low as to not startle the fox that was near by. He was getting closer and closer to being a warrior every day. Soon, 4 moons from now...or sooner he knew he would be in the ranks of the warriors.

The fox wasn’t paying heed to the cats. It was happily eating a rabbit, just as Fallingstar had suspected. She suppressed a hiss but bared her fangs at the creature anyways. The good news was that it was young. Fresh out of the den clearly. Which meant that together Fallingstar and Foxpaw would be able to run it off.
Looking at him she gave a small smile. He was so ready to be a warrior, and a fine one at that she knew. Moving slightly closer to him, she lowered her head to his, her breath on his ear. “Alright. I’ll take the left, you take the right. Dart at it quickly and scratch at its belly, then run back. It’ll be confused from being attacked at both sides. Then sweep around back for it’s rear. I’ll take the head.” She meowed. “I'll sound the yowl when we're ready.” She meowed, heading towards the left.

ooc: Time runs by the leaders judgement
Foxpaw listened to her words he was bouncing on his paws with anticipation. Clearly this tom was ready to go. When she spoke he moved quickly lowering himself to the ground. He remembered to keep himself lowered and to keep his tail low too. The tip of his tail twitched followed by his whiskers. He was letting her know he was ready on her word. He closed his eyes just for a moment and he found that his lip was curled up into a silent snarl. He even though he was named after one, did not like the creatures at all. With a huff he started inching closer, not close enough to be seen but so that he may make a quick and useful attack.
