The sun blazed high overhead as Timberpaw stalked through the forest for the very first time, dapples of light streaming from between the leaves and branches to warm the ground below. Scents filled her nostrils, and she worked to pick out each: the clan's scent markers off a ways to her left were the strongest, followed by the scent of Rowanpaw heading back to the camp, the trail no older than a couple hours. A tiny mouse hid under some nearby brambles, not worth going after if she could find anything else. The scent of vole enticed her toward the lake. But wait, there was something new much closer to her.
Squirrel!
The bushy-tailed rodent was digging near an oak root, paying her no heed. It would be an easy kill that her clan would be proud of, and she'd be stupid to waste the opportunity. Timberpaw crouched low and crept closer...
...and closer...
...and closer...
Then she was within pouncing distance. She leaped toward her prey, claws outstretched. The squirrel saw her a second too late, its muscles straining against her strong claws as she performed the killing bite.
It tasted of moss.
"Bleh!" Timberpaw awoke that second, jumping to her feet and spitting out the mouthful of bedding she had "killed" in her sleep. "Ugh!"

Shadepaw glanced over hearing Timberpaw jump in disgust. She smirked padding past him "I'm guessing moss is breakfast these days huh?" she shook her head going ount into the camp and sitting down where the sun shined on her dark fur coat. How is it possible for someone to be that stupid? Eat moss in their sleep? Thats just unnatural. Let alone just plain weird. She took her mind off it for a second and glanced around. Nothing had changed since she had taken a nap earlier. "I'm not surprised, this place is so boring." she mumbled narrowing her eyes.

She watched as Shadepaw padded past her, blinking away what little sleep remained. She wouldn't be able to fall asleep again after that, so she may as well be up for the day.
"It wasn't moss in my dream..." She followed her denmate out into the camp and stretched. "It was this very tasty-looking squirrel and I just about had it. I can't wait until my mentor takes me out for hunting training so I can catch one for real."
Shadepaw then commented about the camp being boring, and Timberpaw loked around. "Could be worse. Everyone could be sick, or there could be a battle going on."

Shadepaw flicked her tail and turned to Timberpaw " At least the latter would be exciting. This is just sitting around doing nothing. Its shameful to say the least. We should be out there taking more territory, but instead we just sit here." not to mention she'd rather be asleep then converse with her fellow members of the clan. "I think its safe to say there could be something better than this going on." she replied, slightly annoyed just thinking about the boring situation at paw. She looked at the ground "So. That dream, you usually just have ones about murdering moss?" she glances up smiling.

She stared at Shadepaw as the other she-cat spoke. "I understand what you're saying, but I don't think I want a battle. Not right now, anyway. I haven't even started my training yet, so I'd be unable to defend everyone. Besides, sometimes cats die in battles, and I don't want to lose anyone..." She shook her pelt, dislodging bits of dried moss. "We weren't asked on a patrol or to do anything for the elders or anything. Do you think they'd mind us taking a walk or something? It'd be something to do..." She flexed her claws. "I don't dream of moss at all. I don't usually dream about hunting either...Usually it's about me and Rootpaw playing." She blinked. "I guess I'm just excited about everything."
