the sun had just risen above the trees that stood on all sides of the camp. their leafy tops reached for the sky seeming to never make it too terribly far up. most of the clan had yet to emerge from the shadowy brambles they slept in and the older apprentice felt alone as he padded into the center of the camp. while he enjoyed the time of silence, he felt out of place. normally there would be cats buzzing about hectically trying to do this and that and than this again. today, however, the cycle seemed to be broken and they all wanted to remain in a prolonged slumber. his dark russet colored fur shone as the light warmed in, shaking off the lingering scent of night's chill.
blazingpaw knew that soon the others would wake and he would be expected to go on patrol, but for now... he took in a deep breath and allowed himself to relax, his long tail curling around his paws and he settled into the dead center of the packed earth. with a smile he looked out over the camp entrance, naming the shapes of the clouds as they passed by him. he had the soul of a kit, and he didn't suppose that would ever change. he had loved, he had lost, but he still enjoyed the small things such as counting stars and naming clouds. today, he knew, would bring a whole new plate of drama as well as chores and stress. thunderclan was always a constant source of stress for the former bloodclan tom, and he often wondered why he stayed here.
behind him he heard the faint sound of footsteps as someone approached him. "hello?" he called. perhaps someone else had decided to join him in enjoying the calm of the early morning.

The silver she-cat blinked awake. Her blue eyes reflecting the golden rays of new-leaf. The she-cat shook moss from her silver coat and rolled over. She flicked her ears before she decided it would be better to stand up. Taking a large breath she stood up and lightly padded out to the center of the clearing. Her pale blue eyes layed on Blazingpaw for just a moment. The she-cat was indifferent about him. She closed her eyes and with brave pawsteps stepped forward. Her step light and elegant as any she-cats should be.
"Hello, and goodmorning to you Blazingpaw." the she-cat mewed. She stood next to him and with a swift movement brought her sleek somewhat furry tail around her paws. The medium furred she-cat looked at her paws unsure of how to start the conversation with such a handsome tom. "How are you this evening, early morning, Blazingpaw? good I hope?" she mewed with a genuine tone.

blazingpaw didn't acknowledge her right away, he wasn't sure how to approach her or how he even felt about the idea of her being around him. "good, yes. and you?" his words were cold - unlike his usual warm and bubbly voice. morning wasn't a good time to talk to him, apparently. or maybe he just had problems with the silvery girl beside him. her dark blue eyes struck him as off, and he couldn't seem to pry his own dark green ones away.

Silverpaw found herself twitching her tail nervously. As it swayed back and forth the girl kept trying to advert his gaze. She didn't know why. Perhaps it was all the stress in the clan with the past few rank changes and apparent dissapearence of a medicine cat. With a twinge of guilt in her heart the she-cat didn't know what to say. Was good a real answer? Was that what she really meant? The clans were a time of perilous danger and would she really say that she was good? Silverpaw blinked and made eye contact with the tom and held his gaze for just a moment before looking away. His tone was sharp and she could feel his gaze penetrating her skin."I can't complain at this point in time..." the she-cat mewed. That was a lie. There were so many things to complain about. Life was far from peachy in the clans."It's a new day...time to start fresh...."
