Fawnpaw ran through the forest as fast as she could. She didn't care that she was scaring off prey. A black bird was startled out of pulling a worm from the ground and flew to perch in a tree, cawing out an alarm. The she-cat ignored an annoyed yowl from one of her Clanmates (she didn't really know or care who it was) and just continued to charge through the undergrowth. She had to get back to camp, had to get to Skystar, had to tell him...
There! The camp entrance came into view. Fawnpaw crashed through the narrow space, ignoring the ginger-and-white tufts of fur she left behind. She blasted through and stood in the middle of camp. Her chest was heaving and tears built up in her eyes, tears that had nothing to do with the wind that had tore at her senses during her dash. "TIGERFLIGHT IS DEAD!" she cried out loudly.

Skystar was chatting with a senior warrior about possible assigning them another apprentice. The warrior had explained to Skystar that they were ready and felt it was only fair that they have another. The tom agreed and was about to offer one of his own kits for the future when a ginger and white she-cat came storming into camp. The gray tom alarmed, stood up and looked at the apprentice with a skeptical glare."Fawnpaw what is it..." The tom mewed. The next words that flew out of the she-cats mouth made the toms jaws drop. Dead...his deputy was dead...this was Hinders doing wasn't it? The tom let out a growl and looked around.
"Stormwind, you come with me now." Skystar wasn't very nice about the demand but what did he really have to be nice for? The tom had just lost his deputy. The entire clan knew that Tigerflight was as good as gone, however, Skystar didn't want to except the fact until he had solid proof. Here was the proof."Fawnpaw you need to lead us there now!" the tom mewed bolting out of the camp entrance.

Stormwind looked up from where he was speaking with Sootpelt. His ears flicked upwards in surprise at Skystar's order, but he nodded nevertheless. He stood and looked down at Sootpelt. "Do me a favor, bro? Stay in the camp until I come back?" Sootpelt saluted childishly. "And make sure Raccoonpaw stays in camp too. I don't want her trying to follow us and getting hurt along the way."
Sootpelt nodded again and Stormwind ran out of camp, following after his leader and the apprentice. He tracked their scents southward. He was vaguely surprised to realize that she was leading them towards the abandoned twoleg nest.
Stormwind slowed when their scents became fresher. He pushed aside a branch and discovered Fawnpaw sitting outside of the entry way to the twoleg nest. Fawnpaw looked up at his entrance and meowed, "I'm sorry... but I couldn't... I didn't want to see it again..."
The warrior nodded his understanding and touched his nose to her ear. "Don't worry about it, deary. Just wait out here and stand guard, okay?" She nodded and sat again. Stormwind went about her and into the nest. There was an opening in the ground, something that he'd never realized before. Skystar's scent was strongest there. Stormwind stood at the top and called down. "Skystar?"

With a mighty leap the tom jumped out from the hole. He hoped he wouldn't startle the warrior. Skystar's face had a look of anguish and anger combined. There was no way to lift the orange and black tom out of that hole without a lot of help it would take many to get him out of there. The only other thing they could do would be to bury him right where he was."It's not a sight, that any apprentice should have had to see..." he mewed. He recalled the toms throat having a large injury. as well as his head crushed from what looked like a rock. He didn't even have a fighting chance.
"His fur reeks of rogue. He was murdered...he didn't even have a fighting chance.... It could be one of Crimsonstars goons...but even in anger he wants me dead...he wouldn't kill my deputy....would he?" He asked the question to himself and to stormwind. He just shook his head with disdain."I don't want to just leave him here....but I don't know how to even begin going about getting him out for a proper burial."
