Technically, Adderpaw knew that she was not supposed to be out here without a warrior accompanying her. However, she also knew that no one would probably miss her, as it was nearing the end of the afternoon. It was early enough so that it would not be abnormal should all apprentices should not be back, but late enough so that most of the cats on patrol would be starting to turn around and retire to camp. If luck was on her side, chances were that she would not get caught. Though she did not rely purely on luck, which she put so little stock in; Adderpaw had faith in her ability to sneak around, though she was far from mastering it. Fighting was her forte, and always would be, but the apprentice knew that she had to work in other areas if she was to become a decent warrior. Perhaps then Skystar would be proud of her.
Of course, she would also have to prove herself to the cats of Virus, though no ThunderClan cat could ever know of her secret ambition. The apprentice looked around suddenly, wiping that thought from her mind as if her clanmates could read her thoughts. Right now, she should focus on hunting and, if she was lucky, catching some prey. Continuing on her way, paws moving quietly over the ground, Adderpaw scented the air. An easily recognizable scent floated to her parted jaws -- mouse -- and she changed her course, redirecting her paws in the direction of her soon-to-be prey.
As she neared the area, the she-cat crouched down and inched forward, take your time repeating itself over and over in her head. With her silent mantra, Adderpaw bit back the impatience that always came bursting through when she tried to hunt, and kept moving forward toward the unsuspecting mouse. She was close enough, wasn't she? Surely she could reach it if she just bunched her muscles and... Pounce! Unsheathed claws met empty air, just short of the mouse, which now scampered away in a panic. Fur bristling in annoyance, the silver she-cat lunged at it again, claws flailing in a vain attempt to catch her quarry before it disappeared into the undergrowth again. She was too slow. Straightening up, Adderpaw hissed, "Foxdung," under her breath, tail lashing through the air. Her impatience had beaten her again.

Skystar decided it was best to go for a walk. His clan was uptight about Crimsonstar possibly attacking. He knew it was possible he just didn't know when it would happen. He took in a quick breath and examined his territory. Birds were chirping he noticed mice running about. He wasn't in the mood to catch one but it was nice. It was what he would say peaceful. He closed his eyes and the moment he was finally relaxed his nostrils flared at the scent of a young cat running about. He had ordered that apprentices didn't go out a lone only because you never knew when another cat may attack."great..." he mumbled.
He wasn't exactly thrilled knowing he was going to run into Adderpaw. It annoyed him when she called him dad, it wasn't her fault Hollyshadow had the poor she-cat convinced. Was it really right of him to blow her off like that? Using every last bit of patience he knew that he had, he watched the she-cat drop into a hunters crouch. The tom knew she had great battle skills. After watching her for a moment, the tom flicked his ears and padded over.
"Like this Adderpaw." the tom mewed. He lowered himself to the forest floor and moved at a swift pace. When he reached a rather small fern he stood up and flicked his tail at the she-cat for her to try."You must have patience...." he mewed. Perhaps one day he would listen to his own advice and have patience for this young apprentice and her mothers dark lies.

Frostebite padded through her home taking her time and was about to keep walking when she heard a voice in the distance. Her head turned toward the sound and she trotted towards it. She came closer and saw Adderpaw trying to hunt. She gave a small smile watching the apprentice and no later she saw her leader pad up to adderpaw and helped her learn the hunting position. She gave a soft smile and watched the two cats. He really did care about his clan and wanted to make sure they did the best they could. Frostbite couldnt look away. It was too cute. You too must have patience Skystar.. with everyone and everything you come in contact with. You never know who is fighting a battle you dont know about. she thought as she let out a breath.
