The ginger coated tom paced forward in a hunting crouch. He wanted to show his mentor that he was trying his hardest in order to get the status of a warrior. The apprentice spotted a frog and licked his muzzle. He knew that would be a tasty meal. He walked forward and when he was about to pounce the frog splashed away. He cursed under his breath. What was he doing wrong. The tom shook his head and continued on. He spotted a tall fern and raised a brow. He could always practice his battle skills. The tom reared up on his hind legs and came crashing down. The grayish green fern imediately fell to the ground in a crumpled mess. Well that was no good. He let out a sigh. He parted his jaws and sniffed the air. Nothing seemed to be going his way lately. He sat down and with a huff wrapped his tail around his paws. He needed his mentor here, yet he had no idea where he was to be found.

Rosepaw was looking for her mentor, Viperstar. She had been extremely busy with leader stuff lately and she seemed to be avoiding training her apprentice. The patient Rosepaw was becoming rather irritated. She recognized a familiar scent. Her brother, Robinpaw. Though crazy things had happened during the past moon, Rosepaw wasn't worried. Rosepaw approached Robinpaw.
"Hello. Have you seen Viperstar?" She asked. "I want to do some training, but I can't find her anywhere." She blinked her green eyes at him.

[Robinpaw look at his sibling with soft eyes. He had not seen Viperstar now that he thought about it. He hadn't seen Viperstar in a couple of days. He remembered seeing her at the large meeting but ever since Maplestar had vanished into thin air he couldn't recall seeing the she-cat."Don't feel bad Rosepaw, I haven't seen my mentor in what seems like Moons. Now that I recall I haven't seen Viperstar in a few days. I haven't seen her in camp our out hunting. Perhaps she went to Moonpool for some guidance." the tom mewed. He was more than likely wrong but it was worth a shot. His ears flicked back and forth as he remembered the meeting. There had been a traitor in the clan. His eyes shot wide. Was it Viperstar? No it couldn't be "I'm guessing she's at moonpool Rosepaw. Perhaps you and I can train together?"

Robinpaw's answer seemed logical enough for the she-cat.
"Alright!" Rosepaw said. Training with her littermate sounded like fun. "Should we find a warrior to help us?Or just practice what we know?" She asked. Being a quiet one, it seemed like those were the most words Rosepaw had said at one time in her whole life. The ginger she-cat wondered where Fernpaw was. It would be great if we all trained together, she thought. Rosepaw enjoyed the company of other cats, the more the better.

Robinpaw nodded that was the most he had ever heard Rosepaw speak in a long time. He couldn't help but let out a purr of amusement. The tom looked around and he suddenly wondered if she was looking for there sister fernpaw. Now that he thought about it he hadn't seen her either."I haven't seen Fernpaw either Rosepaw. I guess cats are training for an unknown attack. Maplestar said he was going to attack the clan when he got a chance, and then he said there was a traitor spying on the clans who was in our clan and oh I don't know, how about we practice what we know. I'm good at fighting, that's what my mentor has taught me, what about you?"

"She mostly taught me hunting." Rosepaw said. She ran her tongue over one of her paws. What Robinpaw had said about 'an unknown attack' made her nervous. "Do you really think there will be an attack?"Her bright green eyes went wide with fear. If there was an attack so many things that could go wrong. Cats could get hurt and die. Rosepaw gave a small, visible tremble.

Robinpaw nodded."Good! That means you can show me how to hunt. You probably saw me chasing after that frog. One of the easiest things to catch and I missed it completely." He let his eye brows furrow into a wrinkle before his whiskers twitched with amusement."Terncall has taught me some awesome battle moves so perhaps I can teach you those and you can teach me how to hunt so we can both be more useful." The tom mewed. He then heard his sister ask about an attack. His ears pulled backa and as he spoke his tone dropped into the slightest whisper "I don't know Rosepaw...but we should be prepared either way I think... the young apprentice mewed.

"Alright." Rosepaw said. She did see him miss the frog and she thought she could help him with his posture. She knew that she needed to be able to fight if she was to become a good warrior. The ginger she-cat's heart sank at his words about the possible approaching war. Whatever they were planning it would be big. The she-cat pushed the dreary thoughts from her mind. "Yes. Being prepared is being safe." She said. "Where should we start? Hunting or fighting?" Rosepaw stood up, somewhat prepared for either one. |

Robinpaw thought for just a moment before determining what he wanted to do. He knew fighting was important but he also knew that a warrior could not fight without energy. What gave the warrior energy was food, therefore hunting was number one on his mind right now."We should hunt first Rosepaw. Only because a good warrior will need energy to fight. Do you think you could help me with that posture? I mean that was an easy catch and I probably could have caught the stupid frog. Which could have been used to feed a queen or an elder or even a warrior. Please don't tell anyone I missed that." the young apprentice mewed waiting for the she-cat to show him the proper way to hunt prey in ShadowClan's territory.

"I promise." Rosepaw smiled, "But everybody misses sometimes." The ginger she-cat reassured Robinpaw. She wondered how to start, being as she had never taught anyone, anything before. She assumed the proper pouncing position. Her weight was evenly distributed and her haunches stuck up against her body. "Try it like this." She said, keeping still.

Robinpaw looked at his sister and one limb at a time attempted to match each and ever position. He looked rather goody just standing still but he didn't mind he was learning how to hunt. This position felt awkward to him. He lowered himself to the ground slightly and noted that the position was much more comfortable. He realized that the frog probaby saw him, or perhaps felt him on the ground. He looked behind him momentarily and looked at his tail."It's nice to know that cats miss sometimes, but I missed compeltely." he joked referring to his disaster attempt at hunting."What do I do with my tail Rosepaw?"

Rosepaw thought about how to it to him explain. She tried to picture how she held it in her head. "Try and keep it low, but not touching the ground." She knew it sounded funny, but it was the best way to describe it. The ginger she-cat pushed a small stone a distance away from her brother. "Try pouncing on it." |

Viperstar was going to take Rosepaw training for the day but some stuff happened that she needed to take care of. Like dealing with a conflict between Wonderstruck and Terncall then another conflict with one of the elders and Whitepaw THEN she had to go and hunt and go on border patrol.
Finally, when she finally wasn't busy, Rosepaw had gone off to train on her own (Viperstar wasn't blaming her though.) which gave the Shadowclan leader a chance to use her tracking abilities.
"Hello Robinpaw, Rosepaw." Viperstar whispered creepily, sneking up behind the 2 apprentices, her inner prankster showing off.

Stormfeather followed suite, dipping his head to Viperstar. "Hello you two" the tom meowed. "If i was listening correctly seemed like you were giving Robinpaw very good advice there Rosepaw"

Robinpaw jumped when their leader snuck up on them. He gave a sheepish grin before turning around."Well the prey would have saw me jump a mile away. Your lucky that wasn't an actual mouse Viperstar. That would have been such a waste..." The tom twitched his tail with amusement before lowering himself to the ground again. When Robinpaw placed is tail he eyed the rock carefully. Taking a few swift and silent glides forward, the tom pounced landing on the small pebble. He looked up just as Stormfeather walked forward. He had both the leader and the deputy in the area? Well that was cool. Robinpaw flicked his ears before standing up straighter for the two of them."yes she was, and then I was going to teach her some of my battle moves learning from each other is good I think," the tom mewed.
